"Spent a few nights at Spruce Point inn, decided to book the cottage with a sea view. Was disappointed, expected more for $500 a night, including the breakfast. This is an older establishment, unit was not soundproof and very basic. Could hear everything the people next-door were talking about. Restaurant on location was a little pricey, food was good but still pricey. Located right at the end of the cove, Bruce Bayharbor is a quaint fishing village about 2 mikes away. There are much nicer places to visit -"
"I arrived at this beautiful location to do Hair services for a bridal party on the night of the rehearsal dinner. This was my first time at the resort . I have to say this is a beautiful place. The staff we're All dressed in uniform. The grounds were impeccable. The place was just a delight. I watched staff cater to clients needs. I was greeted by staff every time I walked by someone. I was completely blown away."
"This was an amazing place to stay, the grounds were incredible, the room was beautiful, we stayed in Balsam with a view and balcony. The complimentary boat ride was perfect. We stayed on October 4th 23. We even enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The dinner was good but expensive, I would eat out. The rib eye was so thin, it looked like a Salisbury steak. The food was good, nothing to rave about. The server was pleasant. The Chicken salad was ok. too chopped up not enough green leaf romaine. The room view and the grounds were so clean and there was so much to offer with the amenities. The 45 min boat ride was a great bonus. I think the report fee should be reduced when you reduce your amenities. For example, only one restaurant, one pool, no hot tub unless after 5 and no fire during week. Pool on ocean under construction. Sitting by the ocean and watching the sunset and waking up to the ocean in the AM on the balcony. We would go back just not eat there. I gave 4 because of the value of the food and overpriced. Great location and many shops and places to eat nearby."
"After spending some wonderful vacations years ago, we were excited to go to Spruce Point Inn again this year. What a horrible disappointment. Our room, Sunset A, (which is nearly $1000/night), was disgusting. The fridge/freezer was broken and leaking all over a filthy, smelly, ancient rug, the electric burners were right over it and an inch from the sink. I actually received an electric shock trying to cook. The smell from this area was nauseating. The bed and box spring had clearly not been cleaned in at least a decade. There is a hole behind the box with utensils where at least one mouse was coming in and out. There is a constant flow of smelly water under the cabin where my husband slipped in the mud…are there laundry facilities??? Whatever furniture there is was old and battered…not antique or vintage. The pool was out of commission, and we were not advised until ten days before our arrival during the hottest week of the year (80-90 all week). The staff was rude and unfriendly, unlike the wonderful people years ago. The room was so filthy, we did not even unpack. For the rates they charge, one would expect no violations, decent maintenance, replacement of damaged and dangerous appliances, removal of a moldy, stained, smelly carpet, and at least clean accommodations. Even the robes they “let us use” were stained and yellow (we didn’t touch them). Sadly, we will never be going to Spruce Point Inn again. See photo of broken, constantly leaking freezer/fridge/stove/sink nightmare. Sadly, Spruce Point Inn has gone from a premier harbor resort, to quite literally a dirty, unsanitary dump. Very, very sad. What a complete waste of hard earned money."
"My wife and I just spent 3 nights here, and it was great! We highly recommend it. We stayed in the Crow's Nest room in the main building - seriously good views from the balcony. This place has everything you need: good on-site restaurant, fun bar, pool, playground, and a pretty nice fitness center. 10/10 would come here again. We particularly enjoyed the room with the fireplace on the main floor. It was a really nice place to read and drink some coffee in the morning. Do note that the building is historic and thus so are the rooms, but that's why we loved it. A lot of reviews talk about the rooms/property needing to be updated, but I completely disagree, and you should adjust your expectations accordingly."
