“One of the nicest Marriotts I’ve stayed in. The staff is welcoming and helpful. Everything about the hotel is first class. We stayed here for a week. Our room overlooked Hyde Park. Housekeeping made sure there were plenty of towels. Turn down service in the evening was a nice touch. The hotel is walking distance to most major attractions.”

“Excellent experience from start to finish. The staff could not be more accommodating. Fantastic service all round, beautiful and comfortable rooms with the most amazing views. We had a couples massage and it was truly the best massage we have ever had-Highly recommend if you have time during your stay. The only downside was that room service is advertised as 24hour but it is actually only until 10.30pm. Breakfast was also phenomenal. Thank you!”

“Amazing hotel, great location - across road from Aldgate East tube station. Lots of things go do and see in this area - Sunday market was on nearby. Hotel was spotlessly clean. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, especially Sam and The breakfast was beautiful - you just go up and help yourself to cereal and the hot buffet. There is a good selection available - bacon, sausage, scrambled egg, hash browns, beans, mushrooms etc. Lots of different types of bread / cake available and coffee / hot chocolate etc from a machine. The bedrooms were bigger than a lot of the hotels I’ve been to before and really modern and clean. The shower was really good and there were no unwelcome noises when we wanted to sleep. We would not hesitate to return to this hotel. Paul & Jo.”

“The location is very good in zone 1 of Aldgate East. The hotel is very new so all the facilities and rooms are new, modern, stylish and fully equipped for longer stays. Complimentary coffee and tea from the lounge is always nice. The staff are 100% top notch, always smiling and happy to help where they can. Thank you to all the staff at reception and at the lounge including Ali and Bianca! I've had such a good stay and felt so welcomed. “We ended up staying here last minute after a terrible experience with a different hotel that was so overpriced and dirty and disappointing we decided to cancel it on the spot. We then walked around looking for another hotel that had space. So glad we found this one. Really clean, modern rooms and the staff were all super friendly and welcoming. Big shout out to Victor for helping us with the initial check in and also for his help many times with any requests we had while traveling with a young baby. We only stayed one night but we'll be back if we ever need to stay in that area in London. The hotel is very convenient with many supermarkets, pubs cafes all within short walk. “I've stayed at new road quite a few times and I always enjoy my stay. The staff are friendly and I love the games room. It can get noisy at times due to the area but I always ask for a quieter room towards the back of the hotel. Restaurant food is hit and miss but the servers are great. Would stay again and recommend too!”

They are under a lot of pressure but trying hard to sort out their access problems. Have used them for years and they are normally wonderful to deal with.”

I think the rooms needed a good deep clean. The breakfast buffet was huge and we really enjoyed it. The fresh made to order omelettes were my favorite.”

“I was extremely impressed at the staff at the Gorse Hill Hotel. We had a late drink at the bar and they were so accommodating and incredibly friendly. The bartender in particular was such a warm personality and we did catch him laughing at some parts of our conversation, he definitely contributed to how good our stay was! The hotel is split into different buildings and the outdoor area is beautiful and well-maintained. The room was good, nothing special but it had a comfy bed and was a clean room. “We stayed here for the second time this year as loved it so much. It is a beautiful hotel, gorgeous historic rooms with spacious bathrooms, very comfortable beds. The Angel bar is great fun to go in the evening and enjoy music and cocktails. Guildford as a town has a lot to offer and after a busy day exploring Guildford you can enjoy a restful night sleep in a beautiful period room. The reception staff on arrival were brilliant and the staff in the evening and at checkout were brilliant. Professional and friendly and very welcoming. Looking forward staying here again soon.”

“I had a lovely stay here. I somehow managed to pick a quiet room, bit of an odd shape and the lighting is quite harsh, I asked housekeeping if they had a lamp and they brought one straight up. The overhead lighting was too much. It could benefit from lamps in the room to create a better ambience. The bedding was wonderful, a really great quality mattress topper. I slept like a baby. The room has everything you need. The breakfasts were outstanding. I had a 4 day stay so tried something different every day. The staff are really kind and genuine. This would be my go to hotel. It even has a lovely little gym. Also a nice touch was an ice machine on my floor which I used. Water in the room. Fridge, ironing board and iron. Hairdryer. Tea and coffee. Lovely products in the bathroom. Great temperature controls or fresh air from the windows. I stayed at the back of the hotel incase of traffic noise. You are essentially on top of the tube but I actually found that lulled me to sleep! Highly recommend.”

“We chose this for one night because of its location – near to buses and Finchley Road underground – and because we needed a car park, which is free (but small). Overall, it was very good, with only a few minor disadvantages. Our first floor bedroom and bathroom were both very clean, with good lighting and mirrors in both. There was some scuffing to doors etc but this is 3-star not 5! The bedroom was larger than many in London at this price and was quiet and comfortable with 2 chairs, adequate hanging, drawer and shelf space for a short stay. A kettle and hairdryer were provided and the TV had a full range of UK Freeview channels. There were plenty of free power points. The bathroom was a reasonable size, hot water was almost instant and unlimited, there was soap and shower gel, and tissues, and the bath sheets were large and absorbent and light. The overhead shower was good but the very small glass screen meant the floor was very wet after showering. There was also a hand held shower head. The toilet flush struggled to cope at times. The breakfast buffet offered both continental (basic cereals, breads, croissants, jams, meat, cheese, natural and fruit yogurt and tinned fruit) and cooked (various eggs, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes etc). Staff ask if you want toast. Drinks came from a self-service machine but, disappointingly, the hotel could not provide slices of lemon for my tea despite having a bar, nor do they have decaffeinated ground coffee, only instant sachets. The Orange Juice tasted quite odd, possibly it was mixed or confused with pineapple. The WiFi seemed Ok but we didn’t use it much.”
