“Loved this place! Had the best chicken and ham pie I’ve ever tasted. My husband had fish and it was so big it hung over each end of the plate. Friendly staff and good service and we ate on the outside terrace overlooking the Thames and St Paul’s Cathedral. Highly recommended for the amazing food”

“It was a beautiful day, so we stopped here after cycling for a short break and coffee. The surrounding area is peaceful. A lot of outdoor seating and no step access - good wheelchairs and buggy’s. If you sitting on the outer section, you have river views too. WCs are clean and spacious. Table service possible via the QR code on the table. We didn’t eat but the food that came out to other tables looked lovely. Will be back to eat and revisit. Close enough to the hassle and bustle of the main thoroughfare.”

“I've walked past this pub for ever but have always been in a rush and not had the time for a visit. Tonight we had a bit more discretionary time and decided to see if they had availability, which lucky for us we got the last two seater table. Great atmosphere and good food. Sorry forgot to take any pictures of the food, but the open fireplace is awesome on a chilly evening. Booking essential.”

“Not far from the station, plenty of room inside and out. They do, do food, but I didn't eat on this occasion. Very wide selection of drinks, service is pretty good. The bar staff are nice and friendly. Which helps to add to the vibe of the place.”

“I have been to this many times over the last 10 years and have found it to provide a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. A range of food and drinks are on offer as is live sport and music. Staff are friendly to all and the overall feeling of the pub is very comforting.”

“Excellent local with a good beer selection at a reasonable price. San Miguel is currently £4.40 a pint at time of writing - Oct. 22. Food is great and they are dog friendly in part of the bar and all of the garden. I was served by Nicola.”

“Love this wetherspoon for cheap and cheerful food! The decor is fantastic and the staff are super helpful. It is normally busy but seats do become available quickly. Random but definitely check out the women's toilet! Loads of vegan options. Vegan bao buns were dry but otherwise everything else was very good.”

“We hadn't booked anything for mothers day and were beyond surprised that the team could squeeze us in for lunch. I can not tell you how amazing the food and service was especially as we hadn't booked. What was lovely that although we were told the table will need to be back within an hour and half we weren't made to feel rushed. If anything they service was like can I get you another white wine mum.Will definitely be bringing all the family back here. Impeccable service especially with two little ones. “I cannot thank the staff enough for a lovely lunch with my old mum. I asked for a quiet corner and it was perfect. Food was great and reasonably priced and the staff were amazing. “Was down for the Scotland game. Great atmosphere and service. Had a steak which was cooked to Perfection. The manager and staff were very welcoming and did what they could for us. We also had a chance to use the app which was recommended by the staff which got us served so much faster.”

“The bar sandwich menu is really good and reasonably priced. The fish goujon sandwich is delicious. Soft fresh bread and packet salad but tender and fresh, with a good dressing. Highly recommended for lunch .. don't know about dinner.”

It was great before but the new Managers are doing an amazing job and cannot recommend enough - if you are looking for the friendliest but chilled and cozy place to go for a wine or a pint (which is hard to do in such a big pub!) then this is where you want to be!”

“Up to last weekend, my boyfriend and I referred to this place as "the wonky pub". Because, well, from the outside it does look quote wonky (in a charming way, don't get me wrong). However, we have now gone for Sunday roast and we have found the pub wasn't crowded, the food was quite good and the interior is tasteful. The staff were also prompt and very pleasant. I would recommend and we will definitely go back to enjoy the wonkyness some more.”

“Best pub about for Miles. Lines and Glass's are crystal Clean. It's a Locals Pub but one which is very Welcoming. Always has 4 Ales on and 2-3 Guest Ales. Staff are Polite and Pub is kept spotless. Land lady is Brilliant reason Pub is Very Popular.”

“A warm and friendly pub with exceptionally nice staff (even to the point where the manager has checked that I am getting home all right - I was very touched), the Essex Arms is also notable for its monthly karaoke nights. The host, Gary Pryce, is a true professional, getting as many singers on as humanly possible, while giving supportive encouragement to anyone who has felt a bit nervous. It has two lovely real ales, the session ale is particularly nice and very reasonably priced. For that reason alone, I'll be going back.”
