“Popped in for a quick lunch on a freezing Friday. Only one member of staff behind the bar and ferrying food, but she did a brilliant job and was extremely friendly. Food was surprisingly good and while not 'cheap', I think it was worth it. Not busy for a Friday lunch, which is a little worrying. I hope to visit again soon.”

“The staff is super friendly and welcoming. The kitchen was closed but the chef overheard that we were 'starving' and she kindly offered to prepare whatever we wanted. The food was great! They have lovely outdoor seating which is well spaced out to maintain social distancing.”

I recently chose WIV to have a business lunch due to the space and privacy it offers, not to mention the great chefs who work there- the food is always 100% We were left in peace to work and yet somehow the waiter was always on hand when we needed anything. “Truly a lovely place for a pint or proper pub food. The fish and chips might be the best I’ve ever had - light and crispy and with a full fresh moist cod filet, hot, a perfect balance of flavours and textures, and elegant presentation. The chips were also perfectly crisp on the outside while hot and tender on the inside. The staff was lively, friendly, and attentive. The atmosphere was quaint and comfy and the bar itself makes for a well-rounded pub experience. Highly recommend!”

He answered all of our questions about drinks, and even gave us recommendations based on what he thought we would like. He then proceeded to make our drinks for us and was so friendly. New landlord/landlady have improved the beer offering significantly after it had gone downhill over the past few years (used to be Camra listed). Staff and regulars all friendly. Would highly recommend this traditional backstreet east end boozer.”

“Went for a meal before the rugby yesterday. Some of the nicest food I’ve had in a restaurant. Starter of lamb koftas was delicious and the main course of steak and ale pie with mash and greens just as good. Unfortunately we had no room left for dessert! Will be back again.”

“I would give this place 5 star, purely due to the very friendly staff who welcomed us into the premises and the person who served us that night we went last week. This place was dog friendly, which was a plus and where very accommodating. I had a beef roast which was delicious. “Have been coming to the Trafalgar Arms for the last few years and I cannot recommend this place enough. The staff are fantastic and really welcoming. The food is great and the bar has a great selection. You can always rely on this place to provide an atmosphere of home and the sport is always on if you’re into that. So glad new management took over a while ago came in to make this place amazing. Guy, Conrad, Caz, Janis, and all of the team are great! Must pay a visit!”
