"Came to get materials for my CASA work."
"My family was referred to this agency two years ago by the court. We participated in marital and family counseling and in a family program. The family program was a once a week program (2 1/2 hours) consisting of about 7 families of teenagers with various levels of family problems. The agency prepared a nice sit down dinner, therapist/volunteer led strategies/activites designed to help struggling families, and an opportunity for us to communicate our successes and our challenges. I was overwhelming pleased with the services, the community involvement, and the support and dedication of the staff involved. I would never had believed that our "normal" family would have serous juvenile court involvement, but it was our reality, and I am grateful for the help of Valparaiso's Family and Youth Service Bureau...phenomenal!! "we have a casa for our daughters who is just to personally involved. she has caused a great deal of grief for my husband. She went to outside channels and broke confidently laws. She did this behind our cvs caseworkers back n broke a bunch of confidentiality laws. She got way to personally involved with our daughters. And has caused a great deal of stress. My husband and have talked about taking this to a attorney with all the right paper work which we have. Some of these CASA counselors cannot be trusted. They are their for the children only. Not to go behind the DCS caseworker back n break confidentiality laws. my husband and I are very upset because of this CASA my husband lost his job. u read about how case workers and casa counselors mess up all the to cuz their so worried bout the parents instead of the children. She just pops up with out scheduling an appointment. keep in my mind my husband is the non offending parent."
