Deaconess Midtown Hospital

"DO NOT TRUST DEACONESS MIDTOWN!! They missed so much my husband could have been paralyzed!! We was here for almost 2 weeks in the ortho trauma unit after my husband was badly injured in a coal mining accident and it was the worst hospital experience of my life!! Terrible service! Awful rude nurses who yelled "shut up" to the confused dementia patient next door! Thank God we got out of there when we did and got him to a better hospital! I would recommend you DO NOT LET YOUR FAMILY BE SENT HERE!!"

"The hospital may be good. But I would have no idea because you can' park. for someone who was sent to physical therapy for a bad back and had only to park 2 blocks away. I could not make my appointment. so I can't be seen. Because I can't walk 2 blocks. And so then they were going to send physical therapist to my home. But they don't have enough. So if you have a bad bag, don't even go into the system. Because you can't get to the hospital and they don't have enough to come to your home."

"I’m from Evansville & I just found out I was pregnant from their ER. I called back a few days later to schedule an appointment for an OBGYN at the hospital (that’s what they told me to call about). So I did and I find out over the phone that they aren’t accepting new patients with Medicaid? And my gosh! The people over the phone at Deaconess Midtown have no heart!! The lady that told me they aren’t accepting Medicaid patients was acting like me calling was an inconvenience! I take phone calls and have never sounded nasty and uncaring to someone! She kept speaking over me as well when I tried to tell her that I had LITERALLY just came in to the ER and they said to call this place back. But when I went to the ER a few days ago, they asked for my Medicaid and recommended me here… at Deaconess Midtown. So now I have to ride the bus across town for my whole pregnancy and can’t even go to the hospital that’s a 8 minute drive from me. I’m so upset because I shouldn’t have to go through this when there’s hospitals like Deaconess Midtown closer to me. I will not be recommending Deaconess to my family and friends. And I will NOT be having my baby here! The only good thing I can say is that the people in the ER are the ones with the heart! Not the actual front line people & receptionists! What a shame!"

"This is the worst hospital I have ever been in. Even our hospital in Princeton, Indiana treats patients better than midtown does. We have been here for over 5 hours and still don't know when my friend will get to have surgery to release what's caught in his throat. Been like this since 7pm last night. Went to ER in Princeton and was sent to Midtown to have surgery by 9am but nothing so far. My friend is in a lot of pain. Also the bathrooms are disgusting and the Cafe food was cold and gross. I always thought they had to have the food at least to 165 to serve. Mine and my friends was stone cold and all they could say was we have a microwave in our C-Store."

"The Worst facility in Evansville, a non attentive staff,unorganized in every way, and those are the good points in my opinion. My wife had surgery there, it was it was completed at 1:15 pm. The doctor told me as soon as she was moved to ICU I could see her. An hr later,I was told they had NO beds in ICU and they weren't cleaning any as of yet, I waited 2 1/2 hrs before someone came and got me, she was still in a dark recovery room. She got a bed around 6pm( 5hrs after surgery), then I was messaged the staff was not doing their job caring for her needs. They gave her a leaky bed pan, so there was pee in her bed, nothing to eat because it was too late by the time she got her room. Yeah, Hell disguised as a hospital!! I have many nurses in my family,and they take their job seriously, they aren't on their phones, or ignoring patients needs. It's called an ICU for a reason, it's not called a " whenever I feel like getting off my butt unit". Gateway was by far the most professional facility . Midtown is the worst . I wouldn't recommend it to anyone."
