The Auld Hoose Chinese Restaurant
“Absolutely blow away with the delicious meal I got from here! The owner was very nice and talk with me about how he started the restaurant and exchanged a few stories while I waited for my order! On the menu, we got the: - Vegetable spring rolls: Nice spring rolls, came with a side of sauce that went really good with the spring rolls! - Vegetable fried rice: Absolutely delicious! Literally the best Veg rice I've had! I'm from Canada and this place does it better than most! - King prawn in Green pepper and black bean sauce: This dish was immaculate, I poured it over the rice, and I was I heaven. - Udon king prawn chow main: Very good noodles and all around great meal! Was thankful that I got some Prawn chrisps included in my take out because they are absolutely delicious, even dipped them in the pepper and black bean sauce!”
Thai Express Kitchen, Edinburgh
“Came to visit relatives from Chicago and this is undoubtedly one of the best Thai places I’ve ever been. I’m going to have to find something this good back home but I’m afraid I’ll be hard pressed to do so. The chili chili bangkok and Tom yum soup are incredible, and the service was amazing. Our waiter, Tyson, was super friendly and our food came out quickly. I only wish it wasn’t so far away”

“Absolutely wonderful meal here. We had scallops and calamari to start and for mains we had a t-bone and a full lobster. Everything was absolutely incredible. Everything was perfectly cooked and so tasty. We also had some desserts (rhubarb crumble and tarts tatin) which were excellent too. Can’t wait to come back again another time.”

“Came up from South Wales for a tour of Scotland, final leg Edinburgh, decided to have a takeaway. boom! Justeat 20% off Tuesday. The food was very delicious and good value for money. “Absolutely amazing food. A must if you enjoy Thai food. We visited on wet and windy Sunday evening so they weren't too busy. Food was on the table within 10 minutes of ordering. Food was very tasty and plentiful portions. Would definitely visit again. Would have been 5 stars, but the Tom Yum soup on the menu was actually Tom Yam, but it's still very good. Reasonable prices too.”
Ka Pao Edinburgh
“The food was great. Deep fried oyster mushrooms were so lovely and the sauce was nice. The cauliflower curry was very tasty as well and very suitable for rice. The most stunning dish for me was the mango sorbet. The portion was big and it costs only 4 quid. The taste was amazing as well. You can feel mango and lime flavour balanced in the mouth. Highly recommend this restaurant. They have a moderate number of vegan dishes as well.”

Rak Thai
“First meal from this wonderful place. We are staying at the caravan site in the town and fancied a treat meal. This didn't dissapoint. The tempura prawns and the spring rolls were delicious and fresh. The egg fried rice so so freshly made (which is a huge plus for me). Red Thai curry also fabulous. The huge plus also was all the packaging is biodegradable and compostable. Well done on doing your bit! When I'm back in Melrose next time (which is frequently) I'll be having a wee treat from your wonderful takeaway. Update: January 2022 Back in Melrose again and just had the most delicious meal delivered to the site I'm staying at. Meal was on time, hot and the man delivering was very polite. April 16th 2022 Again as ALWAYS this evening the meal was delicious. We always call at opening for a time to collect in that evening. Customer service is ALWAYS fabulous. Food fresh and hot. We always get a treat from here when staying in the motorhome in the town.”
