"I understand that locksmiths are a skill that is taught. I told the gentleman what was wrong and that I just needed another key made on the phone he said if I have to make a key or rebuild the ignition would be 150. I asked what it cost to come look. He said $39. I told him to come take a look. He tried the door and said the ignition needs to be fixed and said he could do it for 3 or 400. Half way through he said the ignition is bad and I can make it where you can start it with anything. Of course I don't want that especially for that much. So I said get it working and I'll pay you for time. 10 min later he says he's finished and it's his bad, he was able to shave it to fix it. Asked for (of course the top end of his price)380 because he was able to fix it except he bent my original key literally at 90° so he had to make a new one..... I'm 99% positive that all he had to do was make a new key which would have been half that price but people just don't know how to be honest."

"Very high prices won't be using them again, the vehicle is a chevy express with the standard manual locks, I do them all the time myself. i was in a pinch without my tools. They charged me 332$ to open a manual lock van 40$ service call made sense and 175 to unlock it with a Jimmy bar putting it at 215 is high but no problem but then charged an extra 87 because he used 2 air bags instead of 1 and another 30$ to use a card my company definitely won't be using them again standard price during normal operating hours for a basic Jimmy bar unlock is 50-150$ I would expect that price after hours or during a holiday but not at 2pm on a working day, definitely do not recommend using them"
