"First, I would like to say that the review I’m posting is on behalf of a friend. A friend is trying to plan her wedding, which she and her fiancé chose a time of year that is not very easy to host a wedding especially up here in Appalachia Because we have cold winters and so many venues that offer wedding accommodations aren’t or can’t accommodate a Wedding in the winter. Both my friend and her fiancé are both Episcopal they both work and having an attended mass and a while. But that shouldn’t stop them from being able to have their wedding in a church now should it? Anyway, long story short after waiting about two weeks to hear back after submitting a request for the use. Of the church for the wedding And explaining in this very lengthy form, which I helped her fill out that they were interested in seeing the facility may be coming to mass sometime getting to know the priest. Because they really thought this location would be excellent for their wedding since they are both Episcopal and this is an Episcopal church. Here come to find out she received an email today that was very short and very curt, Even border lining on being rude and slightly xenophobic to new members. They flat out, said no request to use the facility or even tour. The facility was declined because you’re not members and it’s for members only. It’s very clear that this is a country club style church since they only allow members only."
"Beautiful prayer garden. It is a great place to pray and reflect."
"Many features and rooms The rector came downstairs from his office to meet me! Everyone treated me very well.and I understand there is a choir AND and a huge organ.i will be heading to my first service on Sunday."
"There is so much to love about this church. We have found that the people who make up the heart of the church are welcoming and open-minded. The church itself is a gorgeous space to worship in, and the Sunday sermons are always intelligent, pertinent and thought provoking. The children's programs are well planned and fun. This is a great community and we're glad that we found our way to St. John's when we moved to Knoxville years ago."
"This church is not perfect but it is hospitable and filled with real people trying their best to make their way in the world. They always try to aid those in need. In the 10+ years I have been a member I haven't ever felt rejected for lack of money, faith, nor interest in my well-being. Everyone needs a place to be accepted, this is such a place, if you will only let it be."
