After further investigation, him and Michael Sockel (Partner) never paid for a vehicle they got from Manheim Auto Auction in Chicago, then sold the vehicle. Their account is in Collections Hold. Was told "good luck" when I told him I would take him to court. 6 months later .... yes, 6 months later after this scumbag hid behind locked doors and unanswered calls, I got my court ordered title! Avoid this sorry excuse for a dealer. Feel free to ask for some of the texts he sent. AVOID AVOID AVOID! I only wish I could leave ZERO Stars"

They greeted me as if anytime in my life I could return and purchase their most expensive model. I always remembered that and appreciated it. "After hearing and reading the good reviews on the Charles Schmitt Co. I can’t tell. You how disappointed I was with my experience. I made 4 phone calls and sent two emails for information on a 1965 Alfa Gulia SS and was told by the sales manger Tom Baker they had none. I asked if their shop had gone thru the car and had a report on condition, I was told there wasn’t a report. Tom said to me all the information was on their website including that the car was a 4 speed when in fact it’s a 5 speed. I then sent an email explaining that I was very frustrated and disappointed in the lack of followup and information and received an arrogant email from Tom Baker. Business must be very good that a sales manger can be so rude to a prospective new customer who made multiple inquiries about buying a car from the store."

"I bought a 1985 Cadillac Eldorado from Charles over the phone from Queensland Australia. It was a magnificent car and we intended to drive around the east coast of the US in it for three months. The car was bought and paid for, but on the day of pickup, the engine light came on. This was most unfortunate as we had bookings to keep in Chicago and could not afford a possibly long repair time. Without hestitation, they offered me a full refund. This allowed us to hire a car and finish our road trip on schedule. This company was so accomodating and honest, I cannot speak highly enough of them. Charles and Terry were a pleasure to deal with and I would recommend this company to any prospective purchasers."
