The Division offers the prestigious Doris and Howard Hiatt Residency Program in Global Health, a multidisciplinary program that integrates rigorous internal medicine training with advanced public health studies. This unique program is designed to cultivate the next generation of global health practitioners, equipping them with the skills necessary to address complex health challenges.

Under the visionary leadership of Division Chief Paul Farmer, our faculty are deeply committed to serving the world's most impoverished populations. Through numerous partnerships and initiatives, we work to practice medicine and strengthen health systems both domestically and abroad. Our focus encompasses both infectious diseases such as HIV, tuberculosis, and Ebola, and non-infectious diseases including coronary artery disease, diabetes, and addiction.

Our faculty engage in essential research, leveraging insights from anthropology, history, sociology, epidemiology, statistics, economics, and other social sciences to enhance medical care in underserved areas. We collaborate closely with Partners In Health, a renowned non-profit organization, and the Harvard Medical School Department of Global Health and Social Medicine, forming an integrated Global Health Delivery Partnership.
