"I love Norwood Comprehensive Pain Management Because all the staff members go above and beyond.. Marylou is an excellent scheduler, she's always kind, caring and understanding. The medical assistants are efficient and empathetic.. Dr. Hummel is one of the Best Doctors I have ever had. He is compassionate, empathetic and he listens, he came up with the best plan of care for me. I was referred to Dr Hummel in 2016 by Dr Friedberg who is my neurologist. I had unimaginable and unbearable pain. Dr Hummel came up with a great plan of care for me. Dr Hummel has a NP that works with him, her name is Joanne, she is also kind and compassionate and empathetic. Joanne is also a big part of my pain Management Plan. I am Grateful for Dr Hummel and Joanne."

"Not a good scholar. Was first treated with respect and good explanations of risks involved with injections. Even the injection was in part successful but only in part. He kept having me make appointments to return for another injection but then became very unprofessional and each time blew me off not taking responsibility that he just didn't get it right and was unwilling provide any further treatments saying they were too risky. If he was that incompetent and unsure of his profession then why bother to give me any treatment at all. Will never return to His office after this unprofessional behavior!"

"The people at this pain clinic are top notch. Joanne an NP, saw me first, and was so knowledgeable and caring. Dr. Hummel, is excellent. He did a procedure called, "nerve ablation", on my lumbar area. It went so smoothly, and wasn't too painful at all. His assistant, Michelle, is really nice and helps you feel comfortable before a procedure. I had back pain for many years, and saw many doctors without any help. Dr. Hummel, listened and helped me. My pain has decreased at least 50%, or more. I can now move, and do things again! I'm now off to PT. Thank you, NCPM!"

And beyond my wildest expectations he found a way to fit me in for a procedure to help with sciatic pain i had been living with for over 3 weeks. "I spent three years in pain that was so bad, I stayed in bed except for doctor visits. I went to pain doctors ar hospitals in Boston, Norwood, Providence, and more. I tried therapy, hypnosis, acupuncture and any other thing that was suggested. Nothing helped. Finally, my GI doctor asked if I would try Dr. Hummel. I told him I’d walk naked in downtown Boston during rush hour if it would help. I was desperate. So, I went to Dr. Hummel. His first question was why so many doctors. I told him about my search for help. He started looking for various ways to help relieve my pain. Long story short, he was the first and ONLY doctor who helped me! That was many years ago, and I still see him. To me, he was, and IS, a Godsend. He gave me back my life!
