"We rented a home on 4147 Duchess Park for February and March 2024. The 1500 sqft home was disgusting. we were shocked! the pantry was filthy, disorganized and packed with expired food and spices. there were ants crawling all over and a messy kitchen full of junk drawers and rusty cutlery and dirty pots and pans. the dinning chairs and sofas were stained with food and spills and the pillows were so stained with sweat they were yellow/brown colour instead of white and pillow cases and bedsheets were not changed. We had to call Alex (our sole witness)who came to the rescue and took pictures of the pillows and sent them to the owners to replace them. He tried to removed some food from the pantry to make room for our own and called the cleaning lady to come in to change the beds and clean the pantry and bathroom. the cleaning lady apologized and explained that she was short noticed and had to clean at night and was too tired. When we were ready to make coffee we found the coffee machine was infested with mini spiders we had to take it apart spray and disinfected and run it a few times to make sure it was safe to use. the fridge/freezer was full with opened used jars. the disposal wasn't working and needed to be serviced. for the whole 2 months we had to cover the chairs and sofas with beach towels to be able to sit on them. We had to roll up the shaggy dirty carpet and put on the side to get comfortable. We coped with all of this and much more realizing how big of a mistake it was. When it was time to check out the realtor declined the walk thru with us and said via email there is no need "just leave the key and we will mail you the deposit". we did everything we were asked to do including cleaning all dishes. we even started a load washing all the towels. we removed all the bed sheets and left them in the laundry room and brought the trash out to the garbage container in the garage. Please note: we were charged a fee for cleaning and paid it in full upon signing the rental agreement. we waited for 5 wks for our deposit to arrive. only to find out that they deducted $100 because we left the house dirty. we tried to explain to Katrina that we were insulted with her claim. we left the place spotless. We tried to reason with her we already paid a $300 fee for cleaning and had endured too much. She wouldn't have it. She claimed that the cleaning company charged her more and if we wanted to dispute that we would had to put it in writing and send it via post within 15 days(impossible to receive within 15 days via regular post). E-mail communications were not accepted. we were not furious at the $100 charge. It is the principal of the charge that is unfounded, unreasonable and insulting that we are furious about. This was an overall unforgettable terrible experience that we were willing to let go of but the unreasonable $100 charge and the arrogant refusal to listen to reason forced us to write this review and express our feelings. No need to reply because any BS wouldn't make a difference at this point."
"Katrina and her team are highly experienced. Their attention to detail and commitment to transparency have made the rental process seamless and stress-free for me as a property owner. The team is always quick to respond to any inquiries or concerns, and they go above and beyond to ensure the property is well-maintained and the tenants are satisfied."
"We rented a unit for a few months between houses. First the neighbors were noisy playing loud music from 9pm to 9am every single day during our stay. Property is furnished with the cheapest items. Chairs were barely standing and missing nails. Master bed had a few broken bars holding the mattress giving us a soar back and multiple sleepless nights. Dryer doesn't dry. They send vent cleaner but that didn't do anything. No vacuum were provided. But the cherry on top is when they took out 500$ from our security deposit for "extreme cleaning/damage " but failed to provide any pictures to justify the cost. The owners comes out a winner with them, but don't expect much if you are just a renter."
"There are not enough good things that I can say about Katrina. As a first-time home buyer I got burned two times before meeting Katrina through my loan officer, Kelly Horry. Katrina made sure that she was there any time I called, texted, or emailed. We were involved in the situation where the closing and exchanging of keys was very stressful. Katrina was there the entire time. Whenever I felt overwhelmed she knew just what to say to call me and always made things right. She was there to help us help the sellers move their things so that we could finally take possession of our home. I truly believe I did not been for Katrina I would not be a homeowner today."
"While looking for places to live I came across a property that Absolute Equity was listing. Through contacting their office I had the pleasure of meeting a realtor named Matthew Mason when I was requesting a showing. Unfortunately, we were not able to go through with the lease, but the amount of professionalism, caring, and understanding that Matt displayed made the process a positive and educational experience. If Matt has done anything for me personally, I'd have to say he set the bar for any other realtors I may work with very high. I'm grateful for the help and time I was given while working with this business. I would reccomend using Absolute Equity to *absolutely* anyone."
