Reviews of Marriott Sanibel Harbour Resort & Spa
"This property is still recovering from the damages of the hurricane of September 2022. My review is based on my experience staying at this hotel for few days in December 2023 although I stayed here for first time in 2021 . The property location is fantastic! Just steps from the waters of the golf of Mexico. The pools, Jacuzzi, bar, restaurant and opportunities for activities within the hotel and in the area are just great. Dinning while cruising this resort private yacht is unique ! Rooms need some love and attention, things look and smelled old (even before the hurricane). Also, we had problems with the quality of the Internet signal and the T.V. and room A/C didn't work properly even after technicians check on it but hotel employees were actively engaged in providing solutions. Customer Service was Phenomenal !!! Breakfast buffet selection and freshness is second to none but Service is truly the best part of it !!! Can't wait to see how the property will look after all renovations are completed."
"Stayed here for one night to test to see if I would stay here again. I wouldn't come back based on my experience. Granted, the hurricane did impact a lot of things, but overall, the vibe just seems off. We stayed at the Sanibel Tower. The elevators were a little sketchy. I looked at the inspection date, and it looks like it has expired since August 2023. This was in each one. Check In: We arrived early, and I requested a high floor when I made the original reservation. They said they had a 3rd floor available, but we said that we would wait. The valet guys were persistent about our car. He mentioned that we had to leave the keys in the car to check in, which I was not comfortable with. If he described that he was nervous about blocking traffic, I would have been fine with it. We decided to park ourselves. Parking is close but limited. Luckily, we didn't have to park in the area close to the tennis courts, which would have been a walk. Resort: Nothing about the resort made us want to take advantage of the restaurants or bars. We did get coffees, fruit, and a muffin from the place in the morning, which was good. It seems that people go in the pool and lay out. No one was talking to each other, and music wasn't really playing. It seemed like a "stay quiet" vibe. The hallways also smelt like the inside of a historic ship. Room: The best thing about the experience is the waterfront room. We were on the corner of the 11th floor. We saw dolphins at sunset, then manatees and dolphins in the morning. We only stayed there one night, so I am assuming this is a natural occurrence. The rooms are dated. The beds are incredibly soft, as well as the pillows. You really sink into it. Felt like a bowling ball on a trampoline. The air conditioner was loud when it clicked on and off, which was a lot at night. The shower was great and the water was nice! Overall: For the price we paid, it isn't worth it. It just seems like a lot is left on the table when it comes to the property. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, nor would I want to return anytime in the near future."
"Most of the people who work here are nice. But the property is incredibly dated and honestly it feels like the hotel is dying. The gift shop closes early, the game room closes early (6pm???), the bar doesn’t sell cigars, the pool is dirty. Overall very unpleasant and WAY overpriced for what you get. To top it off, it’s not near anything. No DoorDash, nothing close to eat, etc. Highly recommend you go elsewhere."
"Right on the water and I recommend the ocean view rooms. Can't beat the sunrises and sunsets. The pool is very clean and well maintained. With a view of the ocean from your lounge chair. They have multiple properties in the same location and they usually separate the older more relaxed people to this hotel location and keep the families and kids over at the hotel with the big pool and hot tub."
"This was an excellent experience for our family. My mom died in August and that was tough on us. My family plus my sister decided to take a trip to Florida for a distraction. This was exactly what we needed. The hotel isn’t back to 100%, but seems really close. Everyone was so nice here. We didn’t eat at any of the restaurants, they honestly seemed a bit pricey for average people like us. We also chose to self park the rental car to keep costs down. The atmosphere here is excellent and it has spectacular views of the sunsets. The pool areas are set up very nicely and the bar there is very handy."
