"As renters we never really had issues with Main Street. They were prompt in fixing issues and overall we really liked renting from them, that is until we found mold growing in the ac system of our rental home. We have 5 young children, 2 that are twin babies. We were constantly getting upper respiratory issues and the babies never seemed to get well. After 6mo of constant doctors visits we decided to check around the home to see if it was in the environment. My husband and I decided to clean the ac vent covers in the house and found black mold growing behind all of them. Our oldest son also has asthma. We had to uproot our family of 7 overnight. It took almost a month for Main Street to get the ductwork and ac covers clean and we were stuck with bills for 2 houses. We were not compensated a dime. Main Street only deducted rent from the days we were gone. They never had the mold tested or checked. They literally just surfaced cleaned everything. We decided not to move back into the home because we knew the whole house,including the carpet, is full of mold spores. I am terrified for any other families moving into that home. Mold was growing on all of our items in our bedroom closet!! To add insult to injury this company took over $600 of our deposit money to paint a few spots even though we left that house 10x nicer than the condition we got it in. My husband also did well over $1,000 in work for the owner. He took on all the lawn maintenance that we could have had for free, he installed ceiling fans, pressure washed the house and even installed new outside doors for the owner all out of kindness. I hope you people can sleep at night. My husband has worked in law enforcement in Escambia County for over 20yrs and we have never been treated this poorly from a business in Pensacola. Had you done the right thing and returned our full deposit, I never would have posted here but people need to know what kind of business they are dealing with. Hopefully my review will save some other family from the same grief we've been through. In the comments are pictures of the mold that was found on our stuff in our bedroom closet and pictures of the mold on the vent covers. I will be calling the Better Business Bureau Monday and will inform all our friends to stay clear of Main Street Properties."
