"Was seen in the ER and was triaged very quickly. When I got an IV placed by the ER Tech he did not wear gloves and after cleaning the site he touched it again with his bare finger to palpate the vein and did not clean site again. After labs and IV were placed I went straight to a paramedic and received the ordered medications and bag of fluids. My care was very good aside for patient safety concerns which is why the 4 stars. I was a low priority patient that was fast tracked so from start to finish I was in and out of the ER in 5 hours which I cannot really complain about. Was not given a diagnosis but was told if pain returns just to come back so not knowing why I was experiencing the pain was a little hard to hear when leaving. I just dont want to be in and out of the ER because they don’t know what is causing it."
"I went to the emergency room at around 6:30pm and took some tests quickly after I arrived. I sat there until around 8pm to get my ultrasound and was told I’d get my results in 30 minutes. Later they came to take my blood. I waited until around 10pm till they took me in a separate room where they said they lost my tests and had to redo it. It was about 2 hours since I’ve done my ultrasound by this point. By 11pm I asked to leave and was told all my tests came back fine. I was pissed because I had been sitting there for 4 and a half hours and was told they knew my results. I got home around midnight. Now I know this is a typical emergency room experience, for me anyway. So I don’t blame them because their work is difficult. This was just my review of that night."
"The only reason this isn’t a one star is because most 1 & 5 reviews are purchased by the establishment or their competitors and are vastly ignored by everyone. If you are in need of any level of care this is not the place to go. After checking my wife in due to crippling vomit inducing pain; we had this pleasure of waiting 3 hours before she was given any kind of medication. The staff also failed to meet any of the time metrics required of them by the Department of Health in the State of Florida as a Level II trauma center. The best part was when they gave her an IV with unlabeled medication. Do better Sacred Heart."
"Absolutely the best experience I've ever had in an ER. Labs and EKG done immediately. Zane took me back - he has the most uplifting personality! Mike was fantastic too. The nurses and Dr. John White checked everything quickly and were very reassuring. I was happy to see my nurse was Amber. Everyone was so professional and friendly. It was nice to meet so many veterans too."
"Went in because I was having chest pain. It was the closest ER to where I was when the pain started. I was pretty out of it from dehydration. The doctor that came in was dead set that I was on illegal drugs & was fine. She lost all my trust in competent (let alone compassionate) care from go. She wouldn't order a CT or anything else until I gave blood & urine sample. Tests came back with no drugs in my system just as I had tried to explain to the doctor. After that I didn't see her again for HOURS! I had a nurse in training who I saw a few times but also didn't seem interested in listening. The ONLY positive thing from the entire ordeal was the other nurse I had. She genuinely seemed to care. My daughter had arrived by this point & I informed her what the doctor had said. As soon as the nurse walked in my daughter informed her i was absolutely not on drugs & it was unacceptable that the doctor accused me of using drugs. The next time I saw the doctor she didn't even come into the room, she opened the door, said you look better we're going to send you home & left. She never told me what she determined was wrong. The training nurse came in with a stack of papers asking for a signature so they could send me home. I had to ask what the paperwork said. Doctor determined it was stomach pain. My blood pressure when they sent me home was 151/122, heart rate 133 & respiratory rate was 37. I cannot say I received quality or even competent care. What I can say is if I need emergency care in the future I will not be going to Sacred Heart unless I have absolutely no other choice! I understand Pensacola has a problem with drug use, but that shouldn't be the go to ACCUSATION by the doctor in the ER. She didn't even bother to come back and talk to me once the blood & urine tests proved her wrong! Absolutely disgusting! Glad I had family who was able to advocate for me, get me safely home & care for me through the night until I can be seen by my regular doctor (a doctor who actually cares about her patients) who I who I trust."
