"Deceptive practices from their agent Chong Gil Moon. I hired this agent on 5/25/22 to lease a vacant retail space for $5000/month. After filling out paperwork to the terms, such as his commission would be one month rent split between the landlord and tenant, which was also confirmed by my wife over the phone but we should have gotten it in writing. I made the error of putting the rent I was looking for as his compensation. His first offer came on 6/29/22 for $3500/month. I kind of laughed at it and at that time I should have fired him and found a different agent who was honest. At this point, he was working for the tenant as well as the landlord. After much back and forth, the rent was finalized at $4750/month, under the original asking of $5000 and the lease signed. He sends me a bill for $5000 as his commission that I was responsible for. When I asked about the agreement that his commission was to be one month rent split between both parties, he denied everything. He told me that he normally charges more and he was doing me a favor. At this point I believe that he never even mentioned the split commission to the tenant since he was afraid of the deal falling through. He saved the tenant $250/month over a five year period. I will no longer do any further business with him and Promise Realty. UPDATE 2/23/24 The agent named above never performed a proper credit check. A screen shot from Chase Credit Journey was sent but this is not the same as checking from the three credit bureaus. Also the tenant paid the agent $1000 on top of the $5000 from me. After seven months, the tenant became late on their rent and claimed 10% of the water bill when the lease states 33%. I have had to hire a law firm to begin possession proceedings and eviction as a last resort. The attached image is from the tenant's last location. The agent practically did nothing and was compensated $6000. Horrible individual working for a dishonest company."

"There is an Agent there by the name of MINA LEE, she is brokering businesses for sale at a 25% commission for listed business charging the buyer. I am pretty sure this is illegal in the state of NY to be charging the buyer a 25% commission of the total sale. I am sure business brokers charged a fee to the seller and even then it is not 25 percent."

"Illegally asking for 25% percent commission and one month of rent to purchase a small commercial business. Might as well be stealing from people. How are they even allowed to be business brokers when they don't even advertise that on their website? On top of that the agent could barely speak english. Beware of this place , basically just tying milk any money out of consumers by squeezing in to be the middle men anywhere there’s a profit ."

"EunJoo (Julie) she is 100% not professional. We was buying a house and paid to lawyer and tried to sign the contract but suddenly someone came up with more money and she canceled our deal. I was calling her to ask why but she keep yelling at me. I'm not recommending her please stay away you will waste your time with her unless you willing to pay more and more and more time goes by. She thinks we were not her customer."
