"We needed a room for one night, close to Cooperstown in July so that we could watch our grandson play baseball at Doubleday Field. Even though Quality Inn’s are known for budget pricing, this one is price gouging, taking advantage of families traveling out of state to visit Cooperstown. ( Cost was over $400.00 with taxes for one night). But because other hotels were already filled, we had no choice and booked here. We originally booked a King bed room, and then was called a few days ahead and told they needed to move us into a room with two queen beds . That was fine with us, but they didn’t reduce the price. The room was just ok. The bathroom was VERY dated , and only provided soap. No shower cap, lotions, shampoo, etc. The property was pretty, but extremely noisy at night ( 10:00 pm). I asked for an e-mail receipt upon checking out, but never received one. The manager e-mailed me after I responded to a survey about our stay, apologizing for not sending my receipt but he didn’t send it to me either! Very unprofessional! Cannot recommend this hotel."
"DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL DIRECTLY!!! USE EXPEDIA OR A THIRD PARTY RESERVATION AGENT!!!! We had a reservation for this hotel to stay on the night we arrived, but our flight was cancelled and we couldn’t stay. The families from our team who booked through Expedia received a refund, but the manager would not help us. He was very rude!!!!"
"Avoid this hotel at all costs. This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The hotel price gouges heavily during the weeks that the 12U Cooperstown Baseball Tournament is going on. Prices exceed $230 a night during this time and the revenue is clearly not used to improve the stay or facility at all. The bathrooms do not have a vent to draw out the steam from the shower. This has caused significant visible wear on the walls and wall paper in the bathroom. There are clear signs of wallpaper molding and water leaks in at least 3 rooms. These issues are “fixed” with cheap patch jobs that put a bandaid on the actual problem. We were moved from our initial room two times before we found a room that was barely suitable. The second room reeked of urine and had the same mold issues in the bathroom and quick patch job repairs. The 3rd room we were in had similar signs of wear in the bathroom but did not show signs of leaks. The bedding in every room we used looked dirty when we entered. Our door key had to be rekeyed more than a dozen times. The first couple times I chalked up to accidentally placing it near a phone, key fob, or wallet. The remaining ten times must have been faulty equipment because I kept the room keys away from everything. Maintenance reprogrammed our door and the keys still had to be rekeyed daily. For the amount of money spent on this stay, the conditions were completely unacceptable. This hotel needs to do better, especially considering how much they raise the prices during this event date range."
"In the area to go to the hall of fame. Easy drive to it, with plenty around to eat and places to shop. The hotel seemed somewhat recently updated. Our room was clean, bed was comfortable, and breakfast was as expected. Waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage; bread, apples, yogurt, cereal. It was not warm enough for the pool, so not sure how that looked. Only downfall was the check in lady wasn’t friendly at all. She was also there the next morning, and was just as miserable. Good stay at a good price though."
"I will admit I was a bit apprehensive going in here after reading some of the reviews, but honestly I don't understand what most of those people are talking about! The room was more than large enough, I mean its not the Ritz, nor is it trying to be. It was a clean room with a comfortable bed, an even cleaner bathroom, friendly staff, free breakfast that is pet friendly for a reasonable price. What more could you ask for? I was up visiting family for Thanksgiving and needed a place where I could stay with my dog. The Quality Inn is the only "Pet Friendly" hotel in the area. They also weren't price gouging for the holiday. My dog was happy to wonder the property and I slept great. And while I was there with my car I did happen to notice the Truck/Bus slots at the far end of the lot which I appreciated since I am a tour bus driver. However, I would suggest entering and exiting through the large lot between the hotel and the gas station as the slope is safer so you don't get hung up. The only suggestion I would offer is updating the vending to accept credit cards. The drink machines did but the snack machine did not. But this is a minor issue and I would not take a star away for it. All in all I enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay again"
