Empanada Mama LES

"My service at this place was pleasant. My low rating has to do with the food quality. I’m disappointed with the quality and taste of the food at Empanada Mama. I ordered two empanadas as you can see in the images: Beef Empanada made with corn flour and Cheese empanada made with white flour. The wait time for the empanadas was longer than anticipated. Personally I’d like to think the wait time was longer because of the quality so I could live with up to 10 minutes of waiting :). However, I unfortunately did not enjoy my empanadas as I’d hoped. Firstly, my cheese empanada was like any cheese “pastelito” since (as seen in pictures) this was really mostly air than empanada. Secondly, my cheese was marked with some kind of ink. (Seen in pic). I would appreciate it if were informed of what this is? My beef empanada made with corn flour was unfortunately not much better. I did not enjoy the taste of the beef and the mixture of tomato sauce or seasoning it had. The corn flour base was interesting and personally new for me, but it was honestly not an empanada I enjoyed eating. I do appreciate the man who took my order. He answered my questions and gave me recommendations. It is unfortunate but I do not see myself ordering from any Empanda Mama moving forward. It wasn’t a pleasant experience."

"The best spot for fresh, quick empanadas and to go margaritas. They make it fresh so it will takeva little bit but so worth it. I got the mango margarita and it had fresh mango, the marg was also super strong. 10/10 recommend the Cuban empanada. It was packed with meat and cheese, so good. Definitely ask for sauce on the side, you won't be disappointed. The empanadas are a good size and pretty filling. 2-3 is more than enough."

"Came here cause of fung bros video and got the bourbon chicken and el toro(oxtail), thought we ate the el Toro first but realize it was the chicken and it tatste even better than the first one, comes with a sweet Chili and lime sauce, the lime sauce was really refreshing and made it tatse even better. So good we forgot to take a photo til the last bite lol, does take about 10 mins to make but it's made super fresh and well worth the wait, we'll definitely come back again when we visit nyc."

"Stopped in here walking around Sunday. I ordered the pulled pork and also the ham and cheese empanadas. They both were very good and the portions were great. I used tablets on the wall to order but it was annoying it took 6 tries but it finally took my card. I would definitely recommend you visit if in the area"

"I ordered the bandeja paisa. The taste was nice, you could taste that all the ingredients were fresh. The employees in the restaurant were nice and friendly. The price of the bandeja paisa was around 30 USD dollars. It's not cheap, but for New York it's pretty good."
