"It was one of the plbeat places for th moonless the could eat that a hot shower when the hot water didn't run out get a shower and help them look for a job and have nice place they lay down and I don't know why they close the shelter and I lost my job if I was doing somthinh good in my com"
"I miss worshiping at the church. Pastor Doug Patterson is an inspiring speaker and person. Rev Cherian is also inspiring. The music is beautiful and the church is gorgeous. I find great peace and solace there. Rev Doug is inclusive and welcomes all. It is a wonderful experience. This is a true Pittsburgh treasure."
"Nice church but very poor winter shelter for the homeless. There's more space for the men than the women. And I know that this is a low barrier place, but they even allow people soaked and caked in fecal matter and urine inside and don't make them wash. Everyone else just has to breathe in those toxic chemicals and they wonder why people are sick. So if you're homeless and need a place to stay, come here but be prepared to smell and breathe in feces and urine and staff tell you they can't do anything else."
"nice people, that are doing everything they can THEMSELVES to help the homeless get on their feet and shelter them. They even fight certain government policies that prevent homeless from getting sheltered at certain time... Good on them. We need more places like this."
"Wonderful, thought provoking sermons that manage to entertain yet pull no punches. Pastor Doug is a gifted speaker. Truly welcoming community. Half of the choir are members of the Pittsburgh opera. That alone is worth an hour of your time on Sunday. If you haven't visited with Jesus for awhile, Smithfield is the perfect place to become reacquainted and get inspired."
