"Just got my bill from my insurance they didn’t cover a dime charging me almost 1600.00 for my daughter to have the same exact test she had at the school. I told the Dr several times she has this same test here are the results why are we doing this again? He said I need to see the answers for myself I wrote the test. When I called my insurance to see if would be covered because we waited 6 months to see this dr they told me yes it’s covered the most you will pay is 200.00 ok cool I’ll go to the appointment and we will do the testing again. I think he saw money signs. Now my bill is as much as my rent have to figure out how I’m going to pay this. How do people like this sit there and think it’s ok to charge that amount people have to live and put food on the table. I don’t make the money he makes. He was nice and all a little arrogant and pointed out several times I’m a patient advocate I should know some of these things but hey I’ll be calling to set up payment arrangements hopefully they are nice to me. They need to tell their patients this will not be covered and not take my copay especially when I called ahead of time. Oh well life goes on back in medical debt I go."
"My daughter who is trans feels better being a boy, so obviously we are trying to help him as much as we can! My problem with Goldstein is that he seemed to only focus on that and not that my child is obviously having overwhelming neurological problems and it looks that my child at 16 acting like a 7 year old was not discussed! He diagnosed my child as” depressed “ Autism is something he does not like to discuss! I’m reaching out to parents who have the same problem and maybe I can talk to parents who face the same problem! I would not recommend Goldstein for any diagnosis"
"Sam Goldstein is brilliant. Smart and reassured me. I still have questions, but I trust his mind. Terrible experience before coming in on the phone with the operator as far as taking the time to confirm an appointment. However, no issues on any calls with any other people. Update: after exploring directions Sam Goldstein is for sure someone who done a lot for autism in the early years, but autism today what they understand has changed. I wouldn't recommend if you have a daughter struggling with autism since the scale is based towards males only. Also, disappointed to find out the whole reason I went there for autism testing only to find out they never actually did the test. I had to schedule somewhere else to get the actual testing done."
"Providers are fine, but billing is a nightmare. Found out MONTHS after my evaluation that my insurance wouldn't be covering most of my services. Got put on a monthly payment plan, but they don't actually bill me every month. They skip months without contacting me or telling me why. Now they're charging me "finance charges" after 7 months of payments with no explanation of what that could mean, despite telling me that the payment plan was interest-free. Again, no one contacted me about this change or why I'm suddenly receiving fees out of nowhere. When I call to ask why things are so chaotic with billing, the response I receive is "oh this is just how we operate." There are better places to go in Salt Lake."
"We scheduled our 7-year-old son for an evaluation which was 3 months out. It was well worth the wait. He was evaluated by Dr. Wilkerson who was genuinely compassionate about our concerns, and very clear about the measurements and course of action. When receiving diagnosis, she was complete with regard to every detail. She showed us a high level of intelligence in her field and perception about our son's abilities and adeptness. I never felt brushed off or invalidated. Dr. Wilkerson provided excellent insight, with additional resources and input going forward. I highly recommend her; we drove from Utah county to see her and plan on another visit in 3 years!"
