"I had scheduled my son several weeks out to have surgery to get his tonsils removed. When filling out the intake form I checked that he had a fever and croup within the past two weeks because he had been sick about 1.5 weeks prior. Without our consent or knowledge, my son’s surgery was then cancelled and we were NOT notified of it. It wasn’t until FIVE days later, when I called the hospital several times the day before my son was supposed to have surgery, trying to talk to someone to find out what time we were supposed to come in the next morning that I found out out the surgery had already been cancelled. At this point, my husband had already taken off work, we had friends and family scheduled to help with our other child, and we had completely rearranged our lives so that we could be prepared to take care of our son for the two weeks or more recovery. When finally contacted to reschedule, we had to schedule out an additional four weeks for my son’s surgery. We were not given the chance to have a say at all in cancelling our son’s surgery, we were not notified that it had been cancelled, and we now have to wait an additional four weeks to finally have the surgery performed. This all was incredibly unprofessional, rude and careless. We will be avoiding Intermountain Healthcare in the future so that we do not have to deal with this level of unprofessionalism."
"We went in for a simple hearing exam that our insurance covers as a copay. We met the doctor who then sent us to another room for the actual test. Turns out that talking with the doctor was the only part they billed as a hearing exam and added another $700 to our bill for having our daughter put on headphones and listen to sounds for less than 10 minutes. Scary thing is, the doctor also had us make another appointment for doing the listening part again, which we have canceled because $700 is too much money just to make sure that the first test was correct, especially since the doctor said there was nothing they could do. He also recommended getting an MRI done. Not a single word was said about how much more it would cost, or even that we would be billed extra for moving to another room."
"With great sadness, I share my opinion here. I went yesterday evening to this hospital with my sick daughter. But after waiting for three hours, I returned disappointed. No doctor came to see my patient. When a nurse took my complaint to the doctor. The doctor very carelessly discharged us without any visit. Basically they are playing with the patients. My daughter is 9 months old and had breathing problems. But still the doctor ignored her. I request the management to bring reforms in the hospital ASAP. So that such actions against humanity won’t repeated. Doctors are angels and this profession should not be tarnished. I have full evidence of my visit and am ready to share it with anyone if necessary."
"Not good at all my girls been there a week. They have her sleeping on public waiting room floor won’t give her room. She was life flighted in. They know she’s not from there. Has nothing. What a joke. won’t let me talk to my kid and won’t transfer him. Place is not worth the time or effort. At this point calling lawyers."
"This review will cover a few areas of this hospital. It had come to our realization that our son was going to need a hernia repair as well as have a mass removed. Our first stop was to Urology. The office staff there were phenomenal. Dr. Cartwright is excellent and I have left him a separate review. Our experience getting our son's blood drawn and an x-ray were top notch as well. Everyone who dealt with us was kind and patient. Upon surgery day a few days ago, we arrived on time for our appointment and were promptly taken back. We met nurses and OR team who were all wonderfully warm and welcoming. All were quick to answer questions and reassure us on an unsure day. We then met with the anesthesiologist, Dr. Harnden who was very thorough in his explanation of everything and very understanding of our anxiety/worry. We appreciate all the individuals who were involved in our son's procedure that day and will forever feel a debt of gratitude to the amazing team at Primary Children's Hospital."
