"My husband had surgery at Huntsman Cancer Institute yesterday. We are currently composing a letter of the utmost gratitude to the staff and doctors who treated us like family members (the down-to-earth ones you can be yourself with, the ones you WANT to see at family gatherings). "Hello, My mom has mantel cell lymphoma so she was referred to Huntsman. My mom lives in Idaho so this is out of state for her. During her inpatient chemo the week of Jan. 8 we received a call saying she needed to come down to huntsman for a pet scan and a bone marrow biopsy. My parents buy plane tickets and find a place to stay so they can be present for these tests. Flash forward to today…. My parents show up for the tests and the institute says “whoops sorry the person who was supposed to schedule you was on vacation and never got told” so now they want to push the test ten days back and hold chemo until then. My parents now have to buy new plane tickets to come back in a week. I believe that is absolutely unacceptable and whoever dropped that ball needs to be fired."
