"I had made a reservation for a room the day I was coming into town and having a chemo treatment. I was told my the man on the reservation line it would be OK to check in early because I had agreed to pay an early check in fee. Well after my treatment my autistic/ADHD son and I were exhausted and went to check in. There was a middle aged black woman at the front desk. She refused to check me in because it wasn't 3 o'clock. I cried and begged and pleaded and was a little upset about the whole situation. Finally 45 minutes later after waiting on 4 other people she gave me keys, no apologies nothing... So we get to the room and sleep, and go to the front desk the next morning, and my son gets out an ice cream and Gatorade, his blood sugar was low, and he does not know any difference I've always gotten him everything he's needed. She didn't like that at all. She was very vocal and rude and said something about 'controlling' my son and that other guests were complaining. There were no other guests there and we hadn't left our room until that incident. So I check out the next morning. The following week I checked back in, just to be awoken at 6 am and yelled and screamed at that I'm not supposed to be there and the police had been notified. Understandably my son and I were very upset, people standing over us screaming and we literally just opened our eyes. As we were leaving somehow my son's phone got lost and that didn't help anything, she said we couldn't come back to look for it but that my ex monster abuser (also black) could come up to the hotel and they would go in the room together and look for it. My son has not stopped crying for that place since then all day every day hyperfocused on there and kept crying and asking me was he a failure because they didn't want us there, he feels safe there because when we finally escaped the domestic violence situation we stayed there for an extended period of time and that's the first time in a long time he felt safe. I called them several times both of us crying and asking why were we not allowed there. We never got an answer. Finally we were told for various reasons to do with my son... But couldn't name or prove one. So I've called Autism Speaks and they are going to help me get an attorney and sue them for discrimination, emotional and mental anguish pain and suffering... I really don't want to sue I'd rather just be welcomed back with an apology and a deeper understanding for my son. And I wouldn't even be suing for the money I will be suing because my son has to live in this messed up world when nobody understands him and that's not fair at all. Would you please give us another chance? Here it is days later and no response"
"Stayed here twice due to proximity to Texoma Medical Center. First time, both treadmills in fitness center were broken, which was annoying. Still, I figured it was inconvenient but nothing to get too worked up over. This stay, one treadmill was working, so at least that was better. However, one of two elevators was out of order all 6 days I was there; never saw any kind of maintenance workers. My room door lock never worked with my digital key and twice didn't work with the plastic key, such that I had to go down to the front desk and get new ones. I asked for the lock to be fixed but it wasn't. Then the second elevator went out and once again, I never saw any maintenance workers. Had to go get a new key for the 3rd time after climbing stairs to the fourth floor and down again, only to be met with an attitude by the desk clerk. I checked out a day early and lugged my luggage down the stairs. I will be staying elsewhere. Manager here needs to get it together."
"I ran out of hours on my logbook, so I booked a hotel located right off of the highway. Location is very convenient. Nice, big parking lot. Staff was friendly. Being a Hilton Garden Inn, I expect more quality and more amenities. This hotel is need of some attention. Lobby looks great, but the rooms need serious upgrading. My bed was bouncy and very uncomfortable. The pillows are terrible. They compress down to nothing, so I couldn't get comfortable. (See photo. They puff them up, but the compress easily.) The TV remote looks about 15 years old and the buttons didn't work. In the room, they charge you so drink water bottles. Wait...what? There are other Hilton brands, like Hampton, that give you free water when you check in and are WAY cheaper per night. The desk chair in my room wouldn't raise. The arm rest was peeling (see photo). Also, the bathroom wasn't clean. You can clearly see where the maids did not wipe the countertop. I will skip this hotel next time and go for a different hotel."
"We travel in hotels monthly and this was the first time ever that as a family of four with 2 queen beds we were not allowed to have even 2 extra pillows. The AC screeched all night long and one of my children did not sleep that night. Elevator was sketchy, felt like it was malfunctioning and you could smell burning wires. Plumbing was bad, no drain on tub so my children could not take a bath. No conditioner in dispenser, enough soap for 1 persons shower. Tried to go to the market for snacks for my kids and it was almost completely empty. Bought a microwave mac and cheese for my daughter and asked for a fork and was told "We don't have any." For $160 this is extremely disappointing. Will never stay at any Hilton Garden Inn again."
"We would not recommend this hotel. I really thought they would take the issue seriously but i guess not so i would like to share our experience to help other travelers. My husband checked in after a long trip and is a truck driver (they only have a certain amount of drive time so he couldn’t leave until his time was up 10hrs later!!) well he laid in the bed and seen movement and looked closer and seen cockroaches all over the night stand. Im so thankful i wasnt staying with him because i would not have been near as nice as him. Well he called me so i called the corporate office and they called the hotel. Well the hotel sent maintenance up to check the issue and the gentleman was very kind and understanding and asked my husband to go down to front desk and they’d get him a new room. Well the front desk lady was not kind about me calling corporate then on top of all of the issues my husband had a $220 suite and they downgraded him to a standard king. Then they didn’t want to offer any type of compensation or discount just charged the standard rate. Well needless to say I will be following up with corporate and looking into a new chain for future travels. We are diamond members and i feel we should have been treated better. Will never stay here again!"
