"This is a pretty great place to live. Kevin in the office and Kiara in maintenance are both really good. It's just too expensive in my opinion, and there are some quirks and annoyances that you might expect from an older building like this one, built in 1971. Pros: Views, neighborhood, pool, kitchen appliances, balcony size, water pressure, trash chutes, thick ceilings/walls, keypad door entry on all doors, nightly security patrols, lounge, helpful staff (except for the "move-in coordinator" who ghosted us) Mixed: Covered parking, but it's $85/month. Pets allowed, but you never know if your neighbor's pet is going to be trained or well taken care of. On-site laundry in basement, but machines can be unreliable and cost $1.75 to $2 each, often filthy with dog piss and fur. On-site gym, pretty small but decent, except only 1 treadmill works. Skinny, infrequent windows, but they extend down to the floor and there are two sliding glass doors. Fireplace, takes up a lot of space. Leasing office is offsite, but that's usually not a big deal and it's nearby. They rarely respond to emails or answer the phone, so you might have to show up and talk to them in person to get a response. Maintenance tickets are sometimes closed for no reason, without fixing the problem, but sometimes they do a good job too. Cons: Scratchy/weird carpet, strange smells, elevator downtime, small windows, building is set to only heat or AC because it's older, high utility and common area costs, rent set by algorithm, packages get stolen or left out in the common area for days/weeks, rude after-hours answering service, inadequate locks/security on garage and storage room doors, clunky online interface for rent/maintenance."
"I moved in last month and Shelby was amazing! She was very responsive and such a sweetheart. My apartment is upgraded and I love it, will certainly be renewing when the time comes!"
"Have had nothing but top notch experience with this company dealing with any problems I’ve had in my apartment. Kiara specifically, is the epitome of efficient and fantastic when it comes to handling any issues I’ve needed help with in my apartment. She is there as soon as I make the call, she consistently goes above and beyond, and she leaves a smile on my face. Can’t say enough good things about her and the experience I’ve had with this building."
"Beware - unit 1104 used to be a meth lab. No joke, an actual meth lab. This was never disclosed to me prior to moving in. There were dangerous levels of meth all over the apartment (including the ventilation system) documented in a 60+ page report by state officials. RedPeak's only concern is making as much money as possible, as a resident i was nickled and dimed for EVERYTHING. Packages are constantly stolen and staff never made any tangible changes to address this... in fact, they REMOVED a special package delivery service shortly after I moved in for unknown reasons. Since they removed that service, there was a tremendous uptick in package thefts."
"Where to begin. I moved out already so maybe it’s improved. When I lived here I had an assigned parking spot in the garage that was regularly taken by a random person. I work nights so I had to deal with no parking at 3am multiple times and a tow truck doesn’t fit in the garage, so it was a multiple hour ordeal before I could park and finally relax after work. Management didn’t show remorse and never sent a notice to tenants not to park in assigned spaces. For the longest time (months) we had no outdoor lights that worked. So when you walk outside at night there’s not security lights. I complained for so long before it got fixed. Management doesn’t care about tenant safety or else they would of given us lights after my 3rd complaint, not 10th. Lots of crime, during Christmas someone entered our building and stole all the packages that were left out and drove away. Lots of car break ins. Lots of trash left in the building and elevators. Lots of noise and partying at 2am from neighbors. My apt was okay when I moved in, had a major leak that wasn’t my fault and rest of my lease my carpet was messed up and baseboards torn out. No one cleaned it up. My toilet regularly broke down and made a terrible loud noise when the water was running. Very loud in the hallway too all the time. No peace and quiet. Hallways are tiny too so you hear everyone. When I finally moved out maintenance was blocked the alley for my moving truck."
