"The location of this place was great but the amount of line items you will be charged for on a monthly basis is ridiculous. Staff are generally apathetic towards residents concerns and less than helpful. “I’m not really sure” and “I don’t know” are responses you will receive when asking questions regarding, billing, packages, or any other matter. They recently changed utilities service providers and doubled up utility charges with a lousy explanation and the phone number of the new provider to direct questions at. Zero accountability. I’d look around in the area for other options to rent from."

"To say living here was the worst is an understatement. The management does not care in any way about you or your living experience. Latisha would send rude emails constantly; our elevator was broken (a lot) and the emails sent were accusatory. Coffee maker (which I view as an amenity) was always broken, be ready for Latisha to make some comment about how someone broke it/it is not their fault and they do not know when it will be fixed. How Greystar would not give training about how to communicate to their tenants is beyond me. Also, the building was built quickly, nothing is solid or built to last. The pool is rarely open and dirty when it is open. I hope Greystar steps up and gives all staff some training on how to communicate, the level that tenants are being impacted makes this a Greystar problem. Do not rent here, live anywhere else."

"I’ve lived here for 2.5 years and unfortunately this place has recently gone downhill FAST. You’ll probably read other reviews about the immigrants living under apartment balconies. I actually don’t know if there is anything the property management company can do about it, but the sad part is the lack of empathy with this issue and others. Most recently, they had a sprinkler break, flooding the entire first floor (which I live on). My friend drove over to bring a mop and push broom to help me get water out of my room, and since the streets were filled with tents and fire trucks, he parked in the guest parking lot. Parking ends at 11pm, and his car got towed at 11:05. We went to the towing company to get the car, and Wyatt’s towing said that they would release it for free as long as Speer apartments would make a phone call. The leasing office was unwilling to do this or to listen to the situation. They also did nothing about the flooding other than leave a note on our door and have a company come and fix their baseboards"

"There is a massive homeless encampment outside the building that is unsafe and unsanitary. As someone who has a dog I don’t feel safe walking him alone in my own neighborhood. While we’ve received emails about it we’re being told there is nothing to be done and we have received no discounts on rent despite many people stating there are huge safety concerns. I’ve found a homeless person on more than one occasion INSIDE our building. Until this is resolved, you would be better off looking for a safer environment where the management cares about the residents’ safety."

"Tenants are intentionally churned, plan to move at the end of your lease. My renewal options were laughably high. The property manager does not care about existing tenants and will not review any request for renewal in good faith. They clearly want application fees and to steal security deposits. I’m assuming I won’t get mine back because I was told I would lose it to switch units within the building before I even moved out. I requested the rate for my unit that an identical one was listed at on the website, was told that is impossible, then my unit was listed $30 more than my requested rate on the website the day after I was forced to put in my notice to vacate due to the ridiculous renewal options after months of ignoring me. There’s 7 others on the market at the same time, I’m sure it will be lower than my requested rate in 2 weeks. Amenities are always broken and a growing homeless population outside. I always paid rent on time and never had a maintenance request beyond air filters and was forced out. As long as Greystar owns the property I’d stay far away unless you really plan on staying the exact term of your lease, 14 to 15 months with insane lease break fees, and are 100% ready to leave after as they will only give existing tenants renewal offers you for significantly higher than identical units on the market."
