"Dr. Kim is always considerate and takes the time to answer any questions we have. The whole staff is amazing. They make you feel welcomed and like they really care about your pet. They understand that our pets are part of our family."
"First off, I want to say that the front office staff were friendly the entire time I had care here for my senior dog so I do want to give them that positive. Aside from that, the care we received from Dr. Kim in late summer/early fall of 2023 lacked compassion, communication, professionalism and poise. While I can't speak to the veterinarian field I work in healthcare and her bedside manner was severely disconnected. Not once did she greet my dog kindly in the room and every step to receive care was without kindness. To put it simply, it felt like she didn't care at all about me or my dog at every turn. When I had additional questions or concerns it was constantly met with resistance. While I did get a diagnosis of a challenging disease for my dog and a suspected cancer, which no pup parent wants to hear; she could have made the experience so much better which is a shame. Obviously they can't control the complexity of my dog's case but she could have controlled her compassion & communication. The below is a quick summary of my experiences. I truly hope you get the right care for your fur family whether it be here or elsewhere, but please be SUPER cautious of the care you receive here if Dr. Kim is your provider. My experiences with Dr. Kim @ Altitude Animal Hospital: 1) Questions Met With Aggression - Geriatric & blood labs showed high levels in some categories due to my dog's newly diagnosed condition. On TWO calls with separate questions on what could help my dog's quality of life, Dr. Kim in one call said my concern on the levels was "relative" but gave no further explanation. On the second she called me back from a previously left message with the front staff. I just had more questions and when she answered, she was rude and asked if this was an emergency. It wasn't but she was rushed and aggressive. 2) Over-quoted Surgical Procedure - I was told to remove cancer in my dog's leg that the range would be ~3K but also that they may not be able to remove it all and another surgery would likely have to be performed. After checking care elsewhere Altitude's range was quite a bit higher. In fact my current vet in the same area quoted me about 1.5K total and was successful. Altitude seemed unconfident about doing the surgery in general. 3) After Referring to Other Providers No Follow-up - Due to the low confidence of surgery with Altitude it was suggested I go to an oncology specialist. After going through an additional consultation and cost there, Altitude never followed up with me to check on my decision or providing further care. I wasn't even asked how my dog was doing. I would have expected more compassion and follow through."
"I get my Pyrenees groomed here, with Allie. She does such a great job with him! She knows he has grooming anxiety because of a bad past experience and she takes such good care of him and does a great job with his double coat fluffiness. He looks so darn handsome afterwards! Wouldn't take him to anyone else!"
"Since moving to Highlands Ranch, I’ve switched my pup’s vet to Altitude and am so glad that I found them for her basic care. They have always been so kind, responsive and amazing. My dog is very timid, but adores everyone at Altitude. Then, when establishing our newly adopted dog with Altitude, they were quick to find that he was heartworm positive. They were quick to put together a months-long treatment plan for him and have taken great care of him with every treatment. It is apparent that everyone in the office cares for their patients so well, and I feel absolutely comfortable leaving my pets with the Altitude team. Thank you for giving me peace of mind when it comes to my babies!"
"Our first visit was for our 7yo hound mix dog last Nov who was limping. We thought he’d torn a something while playing with a neighbors dog, but it turned out he had bone cancer. They took such good care of him that when our sons 20yo Westie mix quit eating the following Feb, we knew it was time to take him to Altitude to help him cross the rainbow bridge. The lit candles in front of a sign on the receptionists counter as a notice that a family was saying goodbye, requesting respect during this difficult time. The face is as much time as we needed, never rushing. They took a difficult time and made it a little more bearable. And the dog with the bone cancer… one year later is doing great! We recommend Altitude to everyone in the area with a pet! They’re AMAZING!"
