"Trail conditions were good for a MTB ride. There was one washed out part that was a little tricky to maneuver my bike up and over. Also, some of the single track areas are very overgrown. On a bike, I was fine. However, if you're hiking or running, I would beware of snakes. Other than that, a nice peaceful place not overcrowded at all."
"very nice trail that is relatively flat and easy going. during the winter months it can get pretty slippery as the ice and snow melt and make the trail pretty slick. tons of prairie dogs out there barking at you the whole time which makes the hike pretty funny. no real shade cover so on a hot day it could probably be pretty brutal. Plus, if it's windy you won't have much protection from that either. with all the prairie dogs, tunnels and holes around I can see that this would be a very bad area for snakes and the summertime. plus with the tall grass you might want to watch your step. however, during the winter time it's really nothing out there, but you and the prairie dogs. One thing to note as others have said there's absolutely no place to sit which becomes critical as you hike through some of the taller grasses and things start falling in your sock/ shoe and you have to find a way to balance on one foot to get it out."
"This is a pretty nice open space to hike around and see some pretty cool wildlife and neat vegetation at. I've seen many different species of birds, prairie dogs, and pronghorns while hiking here. They don't allow you to bring your dogs because of the wildlife in the area. The parking lot is fairly small, but I've never had a problem parking there."
"Great place to hike, run, or ride. There is a parking lot off Goldcamp Rd. It's the trailhead for Bluestem Prairie Trail. The trail goes about a third of the way around the reservoir, where it connects with Meadowlark Loop. This is a loop around the area north of the reservoir. You can do the entire loop or go to the intersection of Bradley Rd and Goldcamp Rd using the Kestrel Connector."
"Took 10 years old and 7 years old for biking. As bikers it was their first time to do off road. It took us 2 hours, a couple of falls. but they loved it, they accomplished!! Only the problem was there was no bathroom, not much shade for them to rest. We will go back and try again!!"
