"I recently visited Theisen's in Coralville, attracted by a Christmas live plant sale advertised in the newspaper. Unfortunately, my experience was a mix of the usual expectations and a few disappointments. Pros: Theisen's is known for its wide variety of products, and this visit was no exception. The store had a vast selection of items perfect for the holiday season. Cons: Stock Availability: The primary reason for my visit was to purchase a Christmas live plant on sale. Despite the advertisement, it seemed they were out of stock, as I couldn't locate the item anywhere in the store. This was a bit of a letdown, especially for a sale item. Customer Service: One of Theisen's strengths has always been its attentive and helpful staff. However, this visit was an exception. Surprisingly, there were no employees available to assist during my shopping. This lack of presence was unusual and impacted the overall shopping experience. Checkout Delays: The checkout lines were notably long. Although other employees were present in the store, none were redirected to assist with the checkout process. This led to a longer-than-expected wait time to make a purchase. Conclusion: While I value Theisen's for its variety and usually excellent customer service, this visit was underwhelming. The lack of stock on advertised items, coupled with reduced accessibility to staff assistance and long checkout lines, made for a less than satisfactory experience. I made a purchase to avoid leaving empty-handed, but I hope this is just a one-off situation and not a new norm, especially during the busy holiday season."

"Someone recommended we come here for a pair of steel toed boots for my husband’s job. They had a huge selection of boots to choose from and the prices are fairly reasonable. We walked around for a little bit to explore and it seems like a nice store. Plenty of things to shop for in clothing and in the pet section. I noticed they had a lot of tools as well and their automotive section was equally well stocked. My only complaint was that I noticed how dirty the big sign on the front of the building was. Just needs someone to get up there and clean it and would be perfect."

"First time visit as we were in town for business. Not a very friendly or dog friendly store. Prices are on the high side, similar to a Rural King, or a North 40. They did have a few items that I had never seen before. Name story books. How cute ! Again pricy, but I was all in if I could get all 6 of my grandchildren books. See photos. I did find it odd though, that there were no "K " books of any kind in the name story books or matching cups. Not even and empty slot for any "K" name books. Oh yeah, my name begins with a "K" as well does 1 of my granddaughters. What... seems like Theisin's has something against the letter "K" and dogs visiting the store !!! Dog cake mixes ? Pretty unique, but $5.99 ? Bye, see ya!"
