"So, I searched this place out, thinking it was an actual building. It is not. But Butter, who I spoke to, told me it used to be an organization that would put on Hawaiian cultural events such as lei making classes. She said they haven’t done this for a long time, but it used to be that the locals had these cultural activities at the Ali’i Gardens Marketplace. Butter’s booth, shown in some of these pics, is one of the best booths there. I bought a beautifully carved multi wood cutting board in the shape of a surf board made by her brother in law, who is a cabinet maker amd a buffalo horn hair tool with a flower at the end, hand carved by local artist Tito."
"Lovely shopping area but this is not a museum nor really even a cultural center. Disappointed."
"This is misleading. It's a tourist trap marketplace."
