About the Business

Diamond Head State Monument is a popular tourist attraction located in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Diamond Head Trail, also known as Lēʻahi Trail, is the most popular hike in Hawaii, offering stunning views of Waikīkī and the surrounding areas. The trail can get crowded, so it's best to arrive early in the morning. Parking is available within the Diamond Head Crater, but there are also shuttle options for visitors. The trail is fairly straightforward, with the only split towards the end leading to the summit. The summit offers panoramic views of Waikīkī, Mānoa and Pālolo Valley, and the Waiʻanae Mountains. The trail includes a narrow dark tunnel and an old WWII era bunker. Visitors can learn about native Hawaiian plants and take an audio tour to learn more about the area. Overall, hiking the Diamond Head Trail is a must-do experience for visitors to Hawaii.
Reviews
"I would definitely go to this monument. And I would definitely go early in the morning. Check out the sunrise at the look out. Then walk up while it's so cool to take in the beauty of Hawaii."
"Overall this hike was beautiful and gives a good workout.. downfall, it’s very busy and you need a reservation for both the hike and parking so make sure you plan ahead!"
"About 2 miles there and back with a long tunnel and steep stairs. Took us about 70 minutes round trip. Highly suggest booking in advance so you can get the time you wish to go. We went early in the morning and though it was overcast the view was beautiful."
"Worth hiking. Must get a reservation to enter at a specified time. Constant flow of people on the trail. Beautiful 360 view up top. Going to the left when you see the sign is the easier way up. We decided to go down the other way to experience the spiral staircase and the 99 stairs in an easier way. I did this hike in sandals. Tennis shoes would be preferable."
"This is super cool! Make sure you buy your tickets and reservations in advance. Get there before it opens while it's still dark. This is a hike! This is not for the week need or people with health conditions. You will struggle! Once you get to the top you can watch the sunrise! Just be very careful."
