Lost and found items can be reported to the ticket booth staff, and first aid services are available on-site.
The Honolulu Zoological Society, a non-profit organization, supports the zoo's operations and offers services such as souvenir purchases, stroller and wheelchair rentals, and event planning. The zoo's leadership team includes Director Dita Holifield and Deputy Director Tracy S. Kubota.

"Quite nice zoo. A lot of restrooms. Pretty nice maps and navigation around. Best time to visit is afternoon. Less crowded. Not very expensive ($21 for an adult in March 2024) enjoy"
"Great zoo! Entrance took 30 min in the morning to enter though, so that's not great. Lots of animal varieties. Some exhibits were under renovation, so it's good that they are trying to improve the animal accommodations. There is a kids playground in the middle. Lots of picnic tables and chairs to eat at. Bathrooms are pretty clean, we went in the morning before it got much use. Overall a great experience. Lots of benches to sit on as you walk, which I made use of. Only found one water fill station, but there might be more."
"Nice, well kept zoo right at Waikiki beach. Takes a few hours to see. I would say allow half a day. A very pleasant walk through the park. For two people, a one year membership is just a little more than a one day ticket so if you are staying in the area you can visit again. There is much to see here. Feeding time is especially interesting!"
"The line was a bit long when we first arrived. The line went smoothly and quickly. We visited with family with small children, so we spent most of the morning at the playground and the kids' zoo. We ate lunch at about noon. After we ate lunch, we proceeded through the zoo. Unfortunately, the animals were seeking refuge in the shade, and we didn't get to see a lot of them."
"We had a good time in the zoo. Overall a nice experience for seeing and learning about different animals and have a walk. Many of the exhibits were closed due to upgrade but the usual favourite animals were all there to enjoy! We expected to have a small map of the zoo with recommended path vs navigating our way through the wall maps."
