"Having traveled with other tour agencies, a significant distinction with traveling with Air & Sea are the exceptional Hawaii tour guides traveling with the tour group and managing your tour from the moment you arrive at the airport until you return through customs and waiting at the curbside for your ride home. Each Hawaii based tour guide is either a full time long-term employee or the owner of Air & Sea. They are a close knit group and have repeatedly traveled to each destination frequently over many years. They are very knowledgeable of each site being visited. For instance, they know where the restrooms are located at each site being visited without hesitation; what specialty items are unique to the site; why the site is unique in comparison to Hawaii; many times the vendors at a site are familiar with the Air & Sea tour guide and give tour members a "Hawaii discount"; they can make immediate on the spot adjustments to itinerary (i.e., caused by weather, time lost due to traffic conditions, unforeseen changes to visitation times by sites, health condition of a tour member) to ensure tour members can get the best experience and value while on the tour; and, the amount of time to properly allocate visiting a site based upon the local conditions and popularity of a site. They are funny and offer humorous experiences from previous travels to a site during the long bus rides. (During a recent tour, the Air & Sea tour guide purchased a large amount of ramen from Japan in preparation for his next tour to the British Isles and to be shared with tour members. He said, "sometimes hard to get ramen when you get tired of the food over there.") But paramount above all is their concern for the health and safety of each tour member. They are always aware that many tour members are "mature" retired travelers or may have unique health conditions requiring special considerations, including people with food allergies. Each morning, water bottles are dispense to each tour member on the bus. (On one occasion, the tour guide immediately went to a local 7-11 store to purchase water/ice tea when the expected case of water was not available/delivered to the hotel/bus at departure.) They are physically capable to assist tour members with luggage upon arrival and departure at each hotel. They have a long-term favorable relationship with the local tour guides and tour coordinators at the destination that enhances a flexible coordination and adjustments to an itinerary on an as needed basis. (During a recent visit, the local tour guide, without hesitation, personally escorted me a find a shop to purchase a unique item not available in Hawaii during a free-time at a site. The local tour guide took the time to research the location and how best to walk with us to the store.) Air & Sea also provided stays at very nice hotels and the meals are always memorable. (It seems that people at Air & Sea planning the tour like to eat well.) During my previous tours with Air & Sea, I was impressed with the number of tour members who have repeatedly traveled with Air & Sea. They have consistently stated the same reasons I like about Air & Sea. I look forward to traveling with Air & Sea again."
