"Small, close to the road, cool looking, but more of a stop than a hike. Hard to spend even 30 minutes there. The dirt stains!"
"Quick little scenic spot. Very limited parking. It isn't a hike or trail, rather the waterfall is right next to the road. Very pretty, and worth the stop if you are in the area. Recommend going early in the morning before it gets too busy."
"Quick stop down the canyon. Takes 15 mins and are able to see most of it. The red dirt in contrast of the lush greenery on the other side of the road is a marvel. Pro Tip: If you’re feeling adventurous, the other side of the road has breathtaking views overlooking the ocean from the trough of the canyon, just a short 2 minute hike downhill!"
"this unique place just beside Waimea canyon drive, very popular and no fees required, highly recommend if you visit Waimea canyon state park. you need a car to get there and 4wd is not necessary."
"It's a neat little stop on your way up the mountain. I would definitely recommend pulling over and exploring some. On a clear day you can see the town near the ocean. Also the views of the red dirt landscape was something new and spectacular for someone who doesn't have anything like it back home. If you're on a rental car that would not do well off-road, then be vigilant about parking. Keep an eye out for any spots as soon as possible and be okay with a little walking. The sides of the road are bumpy and muddy."
