"Great little spot to watch sunsets and there is a petroglyph trail right at the parking lot entrance. The trail is easy and has quite a few petroglyphs to view"
"One of my favorite coastal hiking trails to go hiking. You feel so remote. I start here at the beach park where the black lava rock and bleached Coral give an otherworldly scene. Follow the trail north as long as you desire you will find secluded places to watch sunset and tide pools. Keep hiking and you’ll discover one of the most amazing coast lines you’ll ever see. It makes you really feel out in the middle of the pacific. I’ve included pics from two different times, 2023 and 2015"
"We stopped by for a hike on a Wednesday morning, hoping to see some turtles. The beach was a beautiful mixture of lava rocks and coral, with interesting trees all around. There were many tide pools by the ocean with lots of neat creatures (we saw crabs, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, and an eel!) The big highlight was that we caught a glimpse of sea turtles around noon. The park is well-maintained and there are plenty of picnic tables and grills close by. This park is such a lovely gem-I highly recommend it to anyone in the Waikoloa Village area."
"Went to try and see the petroglyphs but we got there kind of late, so we watched the sunset and looked at the shoreline instead. Easy access to the beach, with a bathroom, great parking. Lots of sea creatures in the tide pools that were easy to get to. The lava is sharp and would be a painful fall so be careful and watch the surf."
"Beautiful beach part sand and some rocks. While I was there I saw several people surfing and one young sea turtle. (yes, I kept my 10foot distance when taking pictures) I stayed to watch the sunset and saw a breaching whale out in the distance. A wonderful place to stop and make memories."
