"Look no further! “Hooked up” charter is fantastic. Zac and Jimmie treated us to a morning 4 hour trip on 2/28/24. Experienced and easy to work with charter of long standing Kailua Kona waters experience. Chances are good for “fish on” and you can be guaranteed that they are giving you your best."
"We were hesitant to book a charter this time of the year but so glad we did. Caught and released two massive (250/150#) Marlin. Awesome fight. Then, the we caught a big boy Ahi! What an experience. Capt Zac and Jimmy. Boat was super comfy, lots of shade. What an experience. They were both super professional and knowledgeable about the ocean. They set up everything and educated us on the different fish out there and how to catch it. When the action came both sprang into action which gave all of the such an adrenaline rush. Capt Zac had great tips for how he positioned us to catch Ahi and wow did it pay off. It was our first time deep sea fishing and wow what an experience. The fight in itself is something to remember! I know it’s not guaranteed you will catch and we’re grateful we did. Just being on such a large comfortable boat was a great way to spend the day. Glad we did the 6 hr trip to really give us the extra time and opportunity to catch. You’ve already committed to the day, spend the extra time and money, you won’t regret it! Highly recommend Hooked Up for your next adventure. Mahalo Nui Loa Capt Zac and Jimmy!"
"Hey it’s called fishing not catching for a reason but what a great day!!! This was our group of 4’s first time sport fishing and we all came away appreciating the experience. Zac and Jimmy were professional, educational, and just two fun guys to be around on our 6 hour adventure. It was a slow day but towards the end we did manage to hook into a marlin and got a couple minutes of excitement fighting before the fish gods decided it was not our day! It got real exciting when Jimmy was hand lining the leader in on one of the off rods and two more marlin tried to hook up right next to the boat. It was a Red Bull moment for sure. Zac said he had never seen that happen before with 3 Marlin in a pack like that which added to the excitement. We had had one more fish explode and miss a little while later. This North Idaho boy has been on many guided tuna, steelhead, and salmon fishing trips in the past and I can honestly say it was one of my top trips of all time and definitely bucket list worthy and we will be booking with Hooked Up Sport Fishing if we are fortunate enough to end up back on the Big Island again."
"Went out for 6 hours today and at first it was slow but not from a lack of trying. Griffin and Jimmy worked hard to find us fish. We got our first one which was a nice eating Mahi Mahi. Then as Jimmy was cleaning up the catch we had another one on but this time it was a Blue Marlin. After that one was caught and released Jimmy got only the 2cd line back in the water when another Marlin got on and we brought that to the boat. We had an absolute blast with the crew and would highly recommend this boat to everyone."
"Great couple days with the crew. They took good care of us and during a couple days when the fleet was having very little action they worked until they got us on one. My wife’s first blue marlin was 450+ and was safely released. Great experience and would recommend. We watched the boats coming in both days we fished and can say that nobody out there outfished us. Patience pays off. If you want to catch big fish you have to fish for big fish which often a means hours of boredom waiting for the strike. Then the crew comes into play. Our first strike missed and Griffin saw the Marlin still on the top but not chasing and spun us around to get in Position for another pass while he was still at the surface and the effort paid off."
