"I booked a private doors off helicopter ride for the two of us. I easily get motion sickness, but with the doors off I didn’t feel sick at all!! The constant airflow helped, plus it made the view incredible! I have a fear of heights, but it didn’t bother me. I would do doors off again in a heart beat. I chose the waterfall tour. It was AMAZING! My favorite part was on the way back when we saw a whale with her baby. The momma whale was just breaching over and over again, and then slapping her tail again and again… with her baby near by. Our pilot circled around for us so I could record it! It was so incredible!"

"We did the Private Waterfall Tour. It was amazing! The coastline is stunning. We saw multiple whales breaching. The valleys and waterfalls were fantastic. Our pilot, Mike, gave us a great tour. He kept us well informed about the sites and history. It was a fairly windy day and he kept us nice and smooth. I would definitely recommend this company, tour and pilot. Only downside is a group weight limit of 700lbs."

"Our pilot was Danny and he was fantastic! Knowledgeable and friendly. We really enjoyed our tour and highly recommend the 5:30pm slot to see the sunset. We saw whales and dolphins in the water. I’m afraid of heights, but i felt extremely comfortable, even with the doors off. Such a magical experience!"

"We had a great flight around The Big Island. It was a clear day, down over the saddle to Kilauea Caldera. Our pilot, Amy, took us into one of the north-eastern valleys and managed to pop out down another. Apart from being a great pilot, Amy is very knowledgeable and gave us great insights into Hawaii Island. The views are amazing."

"I wish I could give more than 5 stars!!! We had such a magical first time experience flying with Mauna Loa Helicopter tours! Although we got lost on the way staff was super nice and waited for us to arrive, we were the last tour of the day. We were so thankful they were still able to accommodate us. What made this entire experience magical was our pilot Chad! He came out with a huge smile on his face and his calmness and cheerfulness helped us feel at ease and at home. He took his time to explain to us how the helicopter operated, went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and safe. He had us laughing the entire time. Chad even took the time during flight to give us the beautiful history of the Big Island. After the tour, he didn’t rush us back out the door he chatted with us a bit and was just truly inspirational. You can tell he loves what he does, and I honestly hope I get the opportunity to visit again some day and get to fly with this wonderful company again."
