He is now 4 and just read his first book on his own. I am super impressed with the result. "Following a parent teacher conference, we realized that our child was falling below the bar on his standardized test scores as well as his general in class grades. Despite trying to help him more at home with his curriculum, we struggled to see much of a difference. He felt frustrated and very discouraged. I sensed he was giving up on himself ever being a good student. However, we weren’t giving up on him as his parents. Although, we just didn’t know what to do. Kumon came highly recommended by a couple of our fellow work colleagues in the community. Unsure it could make a difference since we had already tried all different types of tricks and approaches at home, we were hesitant but thought it was at least worth a try. Shortly after enrollment, our son’s academic growth improved almost immediately. In short order Sinol and the tutors she employs had our son out of the ‘below average’ range and now scoring within the parameters expected by the school district. The environment there at the center was so positive and one that truly built a new level of self-esteem and confidence within him. By his choice much to our surprise, he stayed enrolled for the rest of the school year. And with that continuance he later started scoring in the ‘above average’ range and has been doing great ever since. The benefits to our child were obvious, but as a parent the benefits were equally as great. There was a stress lifted from us that our child was now hitting the marks academically and staying on pace with his peers. The only thing we regretted was not starting sooner! As an aside, down the road we had a very similar experience with our youngest child. Like before, we first tried at home but without much success. We turned to Sinol at Kumon again and it worked AGAIN, it was like MAGIC! Given the results we saw in now two of children (each with different learning habits), the warm welcome received, and the unwavering positive-loving environment there I give Kumon South the highest possible recommendation.  -Amanda"
