"Coming here to write a review three years later because I still feel bad about my experience with maui lani and deeply regret it. I only went here for the first few appointments of pregnancy and I don’t remember any names now but I do know I was emotional for my first ultrasound and a dr had no compassion and rudely told me I needed therapy. Another dr prescribed me antibiotics with out telling me any of the risk and then it turned out I didn’t even need to be on it and now I feel like taking those during pregnancy has impacted my toddler negatively for his and my health. And a dr told me some other medical advice that I was beyond shocked she would give me as she was telling me a new untested experiment was totally safe for pregnancy even though there were no long term tests. Don’t go here and have the regret like I do."

"The whole staff, from reception to nurses to Dr. Takemoto herself, are wonderful and seem to genuinely care about their patients. Plus, they're honestly the only doctors I have that consistently run on time. Cannot recommend them enough."

"Never have I experienced a lower standard of care than at this practice. I came to Maui Lani with high expectations, but left with only frustration and extremely poor medical care. During my prenatal appointments, which I always arrived to early, I often sat in their exam rooms after being admitted for over 40 minutes. Additionally, they NEVER bothered to call me with the results of any medical tests I took, even the important ones. For example, I was told a week before my induction date that I had to have an emergency ultrasound due to concern regarding the baby’s size. Not only did they not inform the technician performing the test about the purpose of the ultrasound, but they also didn’t bother calling me with the results! Just like with the results of my gestational diabetes follow up test, I again had to call the office to get these critical results. This practice also ruined my first birthing experience. I was told that I’d see one of the many doctors I had had appointments with during my pregnancy who was on call that day, but ended up getting assigned a visiting physician with their practice. This physician had ZERO bedside manner. She barely acknowledged me upon meeting and was unapologetically rude to the nursing staff in front of me. While I understand that doctors typically won’t be in attendance during the entirety of labor, this doctor WAS ABSENT for the majority of the time that I was in labor and was LITERALLY TEXTING, paying zero attention to me while I was in active labor. In fact, one of the nurses mentioned to me that she’d decided to step out to pick her husband up at the airport. What’s worse- when I called the office to complain following my delivery, I was provided no apology. They didn’t even care to ask what my concerns were or how they could improve. Your pregnancy and your birthing experience is one of the most important times of your life. Don’t waste it on a practice that shows complete disregard for both."

"I went to Maui Medical Center and had an awful experience with the woman's health center. Long story short something appeared on my medical chart that was never looked into further. Fast forward 5- years later and it is extremely sever and could pose real harm to my health, if it hasn’t already. I truly don’t like to complain but the nurses have a horrible attitude and the receptionists act like they don’t care. I ended up pulling my records and called Maui Lani Physicians Surgeons and all I can say is WOW. I didn’t know service like that existed on Maui. Liza in particular was so caring and informative and she was able to help me secure an appointment right away. I am beyond grateful for her. When I arrived I met a receptionist named Katie and she was so friendly and genuinely happy it made me feel at home. Then I met Dr. Takemoto and she was clam but honest and informative. I just knew from the moment I met her I could trust her. Hands down 5 star service! I will never go to any other woman’s health care center again. THANK YOU Maui Lani Physicians and Surgeons for everything."

"I’ve been referred to MLP by my PCP and I’m very glad that they did! Place looked very new and clean, and the area is just right not big yet not too small with 7 parking slots. Thank you for taking care of me during my pregnancy specially on my last trimester! Everyone has been so helpful, from the front desk staff (Ms.Leni and the rest!), to the nurses and to the doctors. I was able to be seen by majority of their doctors and every time I have a question or concerns they would explain things thoroughly and make sure I get the answers I needed. I’ve NEVER felt uncomfortable from Day1, thank you Dr. Matthieu, Dr. Garcia and the rest of the team! One happy momma right here!"
