"This clinic everytime I bring my mom to her appointment always there 15 minutes or 10 minutes before her appointment pass her appointment time they didn’t call her name we have to wait…"
"Went to the dental clinic for the first time and everything they did, they did wrong. My PCP is in the regular clinic in the same building and they're always awesome, but I have TMJ issues and she was unsure where to send me so she told me to go to the dental clinic. I called and found out they don't treat TMJ, but I could get a referral if I did an office visit. So I made an appointment for 12:30pm on a certain day. Came in at 12:25pm and didn't get called in until 3:20pm. Yeah, about THREE HOURS later. Meanwhile most other patients only waited 10-30 minutes. Then the nurse confirmed "Oh you're allergic to __, mint/menthol, __" to which I said yes and she put it in the computer. Immediately after, she gave me minty mouthwash. I didn't think to ask if it was mint because she'd JUST went over that I'm allergic to mint. My gums burned, throat got a little swollen, tongue was fully to partially numb, terrible nausea, and it flared my TMJ pain because I was straining so much to talk. Imagine if I was severely allergic; her negligence could've landed me in the hospital! I asked what the point of the mouthwash was since I wasn't getting anything done, she said it was just something they did. I got up to rinse out my mouth at the sink and told her my gums were really burning from it, and she laughed it off! Then she had me do an X-ray which I didn't want to do unless necessary but she said it was. The dentist didn't even look at it. The dentist briefly examined me and confirmed TMJ, gave me a paper with at-home exercises to do, and told me I don't need a referral, I should just look for a dentist who treats TMJ. So the whole 4 hours and allergic reaction was a total waste of time. They should've just told me that on the phone!"
"Dental clinic review only. I waited months to see a dentist even though I was in pain and taking antibiotics for a tooth infection. I left several voicemails and spoke with the scheduler. He always said he'd find an appointment and call back but he didn't. When I finally got to see the dentist she said he had never spoken to her at all about my dental emergency. There is a communication problem. Also staff allows patients to eat lunch in the waiting room during covid...huh? I'd try someplace else. They are just always understaffed and overwhelmed. The appointment time is 3 months out. Dentist is good once you get an appt."
"Love this place. Went in as an emergency walk-in to the dental clinic when the cumulative damage from my severe, long-term addiction to cinnamon jawbreakers finally became too much to tolerate and the pain forced me to seek care. I was immediately impressed by the staff and have friendly and helpful they were, as well as by everyone's professionalism. They accept most insurance I believe but if you have no insurance you can still get care on a sliding fee scale with your final bill based on your income/ability to pay. To use the sliding fee scale you will need to bring in proof of income but you won't necessarily need that on your first visit. Scheduling an appointment can be challenging; the first time I called in February I was told new patient appointments were backed up until April or May but if you're having pain you can just walk in as an emergency patient and be seen that day. You will have to wait until they have time to see you, and it's best to show up as early in the clinic day as possible to make sure you can be seen, but for someone having tooth pain that's preventing them eating this is nothing short of miraculous. I had one tooth extracted & am scheduled to go back to get one more out soon. After I've resolved my immediate pressing dental problems I plan to keep going back for routine dental care and cleaning so hopefully I don't get to this place again with my teeth. If you're an uninsured adult in Hawaii who has been delaying necessary dental care because of the cost I highly recommend looking into this clinic and seeing how they can help you."
