"Had a great experience. Was referred from another island for vascular. The staff (Ana) and doctor (Ferguson) took me seriously and advised /performed treatment. I felt like they were compassionate, knowledgeable, and personable. The active duty staff at the liaison office were welcoming and helpful. The active duty members were polite and helpful in directing me and other lost people thru the hospital area. It was nice that the facility has a mini shoppette, post office, cupcake shop, and a starbucks. Traffic getting there is very busy and backed up. I visited twice, both times before 9am and drove an extra half hour just to get thru the gate. Leave early and plan ahead! Close parking gets snatched quickly, you may have to park on one of the lower tiers and walk the steep stairs/hill. I think there is a trolly?"
"The radiology department is a complete nightmare (Jan 2024). Trying to schedule anything over the phone is an impossible task, I’ve waited over 45 minutes as “next in queue” and even my own doctors and nurses from my clinic cannot reach them for scheduling and if you think they’re going to call you.. they are not. Even the patient advocate said he was going to have someone call me back the same day from radiology and that was 3 business days ago. If you have to schedule anything involving radiology you are forced to go to TAMC in person which we all know is already an inconvenient task because of the parking itself.. THEN you have to go to the radiology clinic to schedule just to be treated like trash by the front desk.. when I complained about the behavior from the front desk the radiology clinic supervisor said “yeah we get complaints about her often”…"
"I had the best experience yesterday at tripler. I had to have an outpatient surgery with Dr Song in the ENT department. I can't say enough how amazing everyone was from the time we got there until we left the hospital. We moved here in August and heard some not so good things about tripler but I have no complaints! :)"
"I went in for a c-section in 2003. 1. When I went in my medical records were on the counter. Anyone could have grabbed it. 2. The nurse dropped the needle and than used that same needle on me. (I did report this to the hospital) 3. We were not allowed to use cameras or video 4. My husband was not allowed to see beyond the sheet 5. I told the Doctor that I didn't want staples. I had 33 staples and about 1/2 inch opened gap. It took 9 weeks for the gap to close. 6. I told her and showed her medical record to show that I was allergic to surgical tape. I was taped from hip to hip. When the tape came off, It took some off my skin off too. 7. I have had so many abdominal issues since the c-section. Such as gallbladder and fibroids. I can't confirm or say for certain that the c-section was the blame. This was my 3rd c-section. I did not experience any of this with the previous two."
"Been admitted for 8 days and since I need help to get out of bed. I need to call a nurse and it takes hours for them to come. So you can literally pee on the bed and still wait. Oh but you they say they are busy. When you hear them laughing in the hallway."
