"I booked through Interval. Definitely not what I expected when booking a "Resort". This place is very run down. Definitely needs some remodeling. It's definitely not resort material. More just like an apartment complex that's needs a little more TLC. Checking in is virtual which was very strange. You got bare minimum and I mean bare minimum items to work with. We booked a whole week. Was not accommodating for a week stay with 4 adults and a toddler. Nothing in the unit to clean with and low quailty items to cook with. One dish towel and rag for kitchen. No broom to keep floor cleaned. Checked in Friday and was told cleaning comes Tuesday. Was told they don't keep stuff in the units because people steal items which is understandable but that's what the security deposit is for. No washer or dryer in unit had to use on-site machines which 2 of 3 washers were out of order. More than half the outside accommodations were out of order as well. 1 pillow for each bed and they were soo flat you couldn't even tell you had a pillow. Bottom floor was freezing when heat was on and top floor was a sauna. We ended up leaving early because we were just over it. I'm not one to complain or leave reviews with a good or bad experience but this place definitely needs to get it together and should not be considered a "Resort". Would not recommend."
"Not enough tv stations. The bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay. The room was very clean, all the amenities."
"We didn't actually stay it wasn't accessible to close entertainment and the pool was outdoors so it was closed. A great summertime spot"
"My family stayed at Thunderbird Resort Sparks on 09/01/23 thru 9/4/2023. I am writing this message to advise people checking in at the resort to MAKE SURE and double confirm what fees you are paying at check in. My reservation was placed thru expedia and paid FULLY. At check in at the resort I was explained by the woman on the TV monitor ( You speak with someone that is not present and working remotely from another location) that I was being charged for resort fees (as expected) and a refundable deposit. Fast forward to Tuesday the 5th of September and my bank acct was charged again the full amount of 400$+!! I immedietly called the resort same day and was told I would need to get a call back from a swing shift manager that day and never received it. I called again on the 6th and spoke to a rep that looked into my account and confirmed that I was double charged my reservation and a refund was initiated that same day. Today is the 15th and I have not received my refund. I called on the 13th and they stated their system is down so could not confirm my refund and then called again today the 15th again and they said their system is still down and cannot recheck my account. I was told 5-7 business days! Having a working system you would think would be on the top of their list to fix. Just be super careful when you check in to make sure they dont double charge you because they are quick to take your money but getting it back is a pain. Other than my rant the rooms are quaint but the beds are hard, kitchen is great with everything you need, the courtyard is to die for and we loved it! Pool is open and there is a laundry room! The area is close to everything and this is a must place to go to. Just be careful with your money! Plent of room for a big family to enjoy."
"The Thunderbird was once a timeshare. It maybe transitioning to apartments. Weekend rates are very competitive, but weekdays not so much. The suites are very roomy and include a sofa bed and a DVD player. Bed was a bit hard, though. It's gated, so very safe. Great for families that need a bit more space or older travelers looking for a quiet place that is pretty secure. Doesn't really feel like a resort, but the gym is top notch."
