"The management at Knollwood Apartments' East Tower faces significant challenges in meeting the expectations of its residents. Despite assurances of improvement, there remains room for better communication and action to address concerns that affect the quality of life in the building. Issues with the water supply have been a source of inconvenience, disrupting daily activities. Additionally, the security measures in place for packages and mail could be enhanced to ensure the safety of residents' property. Community life is also impacted by the behavior of some residents, which could benefit from more effective management strategies to foster respect for the property and its amenities. Those looking to use the gym might find the equipment limited and in need of an update. The cost of laundry services, at $1.85 per wash and dry, may seem high, especially when considering the overall value offered by the building's amenities. Furthermore, disturbances within the building have been concerning, occasionally requiring police intervention, which highlights the need for a more peaceful and secure living environment. In summary, while Knollwood Apartments' East Tower has the potential to offer a pleasant living experience, prospective residents should be aware of these considerations. To emphasize that my feedback is shared solely for the benefit of the community and is not a request for a response from the management team. My intention is to inform rather than to engage in a dialogue. If a response is provided regardless, it may inadvertently highlight a pattern of not fully addressing the residents' concerns as expressed."
"UPDATE: It's been well over a year since I've moved and somehow this place has managed to file a UD even though I'm gone AND they received WAY more in payments than was owed. Now, I'm stuck with this on my record and NO one has been able to get in touch with them to remedy the issue. THEN, my account was sent to collections (I was able to have that account closed/cancelled with the agency, thankfully) and won't return my deposit saying that it was used for rent owed even though my lease states that this couldn't be done. I want to be done with this place but it looks like this is going to drag on and on! Please, don't waste your time, money or breath! This place is disgusting. My unit started growing mold everywhere including through the carpet. My toilet oozed some gross brown gunk and black chunks of God knows what. I moved out in November and was sent a third-party bill for money owed even though I don't owe them anything and STILL haven't received my deposits back. Communicating with them is a joke. The building is, literally, falling apart. Staff is come and go constantly. The lady that rented me the place 2 years ago was amazing but I can imagine they ran her off, too. The list goes on. It's just a mess and one of the worst rental experiences I've ever had to go through. Don't do it to yourself or your family!"
"Ever since ownership changed, it's gone downhill. A lot higher rent. It doesn't even follow "supposed" inflation rates. It's been tripled it. Building has constant plumbing failures ever since I've been here for 6+ years, but has increased in rate with new management. New ownership requires tenets to pay utilities to some middlemen "service" out in California. They require apartment insurance. The quality of tenets has dropped dramatically, and it feels like a frat house. Mary Jane smells in corridors sometimes. Fireworks have been fired off of a balcony in the middle of the night. Loud neighbors with music, cops have visited weekly. Indoor parking has been broken into multiple times. Package thieves weekly. Dogs are allowed now, and dog piss smell in hallways is consistent. Vehicle vandalizing and break-ins in back parking lot a couple of times. Giant pot holes in parking lot. Mice and roaches are an issue, but I haven't seen any in a while. Black mold everywhere in ceiling and walls. The gym is nice, but someone has been stealing the dumbbells over time. Corridor floors are sticky from beer from reckless tenets but taken care of by housekeeping quickly. Appliances do get replaced if needed with lots of persistence. They do have community get together events, I honestly don't care. There was a murder also in the building. Gun fire. Guy died. The mother lived a floor above. Look it up on google. Edit: The garage was broken into again. The rear window was smashed on this vehicle. Stay the f away from this place. Here's additional photos. I can't find the one where a vehicle was missing all wheels and was sitting on bricks. Update: a year since I moved out of this hell hole. I want to remind the owners and managers that you guys suck. Lazy and unreliable burdens on society. Gfy"
"10/2023: Water shuts off daily if not weekly. Most apartment buildings do not allow you to throw out large items such as beds and couches, yet weekly, tentants either get evicted or move out and trash the building. Why have I been paying for others' trash?! Potholes grow bigger every day. Pro: rent is affordable, and the apartment seems to be soundproof. **Update as of January 18, 2023: MANAGEMENT FINALLY CASHED THE RENT CHECK THAT I GAVE TO THEM ON JANUARY 1, 2023** Stolen packages, management falsely accused me of not paying my rent on time and I had to immediately provide evidence that I always paid on time, and that Manager quit 2 weeks after that, then I had to reexplain this to the new manager to ensure this was corrected and late fees be removed, also during the same month, October 2022 it took management almost an entire month to cash my rent check for October, they also lost my renters insurance, and they even thought they lost my signed lease. suddenly, they were able to find it in another building, Knollwood West, where I do not live by the way. Maintenance requests go ignored, garbage is every where, potholes in the parking lot, water shuts off regularly with little to no notice because pipes just bust, and most staff here are rude, seem to hate their job, constantly come and go, Lastly, utilities go through a 3rd party and are assessed by the "RUBS METHOD", my utilitues are measured by square footage and number of tenants living in unit, and nothing is included living here. I pay for electricity, gas (effective 2/1/2023), trash, sewage and water, and KTE trusts this 3rd party is giving accurate information, even though I have requested numerous times an itemized utility bill to the utility company, and of course management's initial response is to communicate with MultifamilyUtilityCompany. KTE provides them with a giant utility bill for them to break down. My utility bill went from $30 to $120+ for 1 person/1 bedroom."
"Contrary to the experiences of the other tenants/ former tenants, I genuinely did enjoy living in KTE for 5 years. While it is true that management has been a revolving door, everyone was responsive. Generally, all my emails had been responded to within 2 business days. All my maintenance requests were addressed quickly. Some of them include leaks from the unit above me, issues with the AC which they ended up replacing with a new one quickly. I’ve never had a package gone missing mostly because i took it upon myself to track my packages and retrieve them as soon as I get the delivery notifications. This is just my experience and I do acknowledge that some may not have the same positive experience that I had. Overall cleanliness of the property is something that needs to be worked on even though the reason behind such mostly are because of some troublesome tenants. Sylvia, who is the newest property manager at KTE has been stellar ever since she joined IPG. I’ve seen significant and very noticeable improvements, all initiated by Sylvia. I believe KTE is on the mend because of top notch property managers like her. I did move out recently but really do miss KTE."
