"Moving in was a mess . Apartment was not cleaned at all. During a week of -30 weather, the snow removal team did not shovel the sidewalks to the garage and the buildings side door was frozen wide open causing a snow drift about a foot tall to accumulate inside the entryway which was not addressed for another week."

"I currently live in the Urban Plains apartments with Goldmark property management and boooooooo!! The apartments are beautiful but the management suuuuucks!! Snow removal is minimal (the UPS delivery guy had to shovel his own path); one of the side doors was frozen partially open for multiple days over Christmas (serious fire hazard, not handicap accessible). Snow is not removed for multiple days, and has never been removed where cars park."

"This place is terrible at shoveling the sidewalks and cleaning the parking lot. “We will fully clean the property after 2” of snow” well there is about 10” out there now, and nothing has been done. This is a safety hazard and a liability. Do not recommended this apartment to anyone. Not just because of the snow, they have many things wrong with this place."

"I had a great experience with the Goldmark office I rented from prior to moving into a unit at Urban Plains. Everything I experienced beyond the initial showing of the unit was a complete and utter disappointment. I'd say the number one problem is the communication, and sadly this remained true as some staff members left and new ones started. I had to initiate every contact during the application and lease signing process. My move-in date was scheduled with a leasing agent who was either fired or quit. I had put in my notice, taken time off of work, only to be told by another staff member that the date I scheduled was only tentative. As a tenant, the handful of times I called the office, there was no answer. I left a message, and did not receive a return call until three days later. To get anywhere with anything you had to physically stop into the office. Despite the buildings not being pet friendly, there were many dogs and cats. There were a number of times in the year I lived here I found pet feces in the common areas, some that would sit there for 12+ hours after notifying the office. The lots were not maintained through the winter, often times going days after heavy snow without being plowed. Entry doors became inoperable due to snow. Walking to and from the garages was often dangerous due to packed snow and ice. I missed more work than any of my coworkers who also rent due to snow in the driveway. On the surface these are decent apartments. They look updated and modern, and they are located in a great area. But the construction of these buildings was so poor. I never expect an apartment to be perfectly soundproofed, I expect to hear my neighbors. In addition to hearing them, I could feel every single step they'd take. I wanted to move out before I'd even been there a full three months. My experience at Urban Plains was so incredibly disappointing that I excluded all Goldmark units from my apartment hunt. I wouldn't recommend living at Urban Plains to anyone."

"Our apartment itself was really nice— updated and clean when we moved in. We had nothing but problems communicating with staff. I would call 2-3 times a day for a few days before finally giving up and going into the office. It was hit or miss if there was actually anyone in the office during their designated office hours. We had an incident with a garage break in and they told us they were waiting on doors so they could fix them. Turns out, when they did repair to door (over 2 months later) they didn’t replace the door. They just screwed the frame back together. Mind you, during that time everything in our garage was open to the public. Someone vomited in the hallway summer of 2020 and it was never cleaned up. To this day, you can still see the stain on the carpet where it was just left to dry. Snow removal was not great the first year we lived there— took days and days to clear the sidewalks and driveways. Last winter it was much better, so that’s a plus side. Their gym could have been decent, if more than 50% of their machines worked. Good dumbbell selection and benches. That’s about it. Overall, not super impressed. But to be honest, it’s probably one of the better facilities in Fargo, unfortunately."
