"My daughter went to this campus and it was scarey for her. Homeless drug addicts are allowed to lay wherever they want and harass the students. Also she was having trouble transferring to another class and no one wanted to help her until she got so frustrated that they are too big to care about their students and decided to unenroll. Then magically all the help appeared. To little to late ASU. Terrible experience all around."
"If I could rate this school a zero, I would. I attend online courses at ASU since I live in a small island with limited education opportunities. It took them two months AFTER the start of the semester to even offer me any type of financial aid. I was admitted then forgotten about. I would call daily for updates and everyone gave me different estimates of when I should have financial aid award letter. I waited MONTHS in fear that I was taking these classes and had no knowledge of I would even receive financial aid to assist. Not to mention the inconsistencies in tuition, it kept rising and falling even though I hadn't changed my courses. Finally after finishing my first session in the semester, so after six weeks, I was offered a loan through the school. Cool! Except now I had to wait fourteen more days for it to show up on my account. Today I called because I realized they sent a paper check even though I set up my direct deposit weeks ago. First off the lady who answered hung up on me, even though I have always been nice to the them. Like I just need answers! They said it will take 2 weeks to arrive AND I live on an island....it's possible that check will never even arrive. Ugh I explained my situation and asked if they could cancel the check and do direct deposit. They said i needed to wait and if it never arrived I would need to fill out a form, then wait for the decision (2 more weeks). At this point it's a friggin scam of a university!!"
"Lordy lord- I went to this campus for the last semester of my degree. Boy was I shocked at how adept they are at overcharging and over booking classes meanwhile completely failing to provide adequate security or even infrastructure for students. To begin with construction workers and homeless people actively use drugs on the sidewalks all around the campus. Security is routinely standing around talking on campus while the homeless person directly across the sidewalk is literally lighting a pipe while young students walk by. While I understand that they cannot control the populace around the campus, I think people would refrain a little more if they knew security would hassle them. Security also fails to routinely walk the small campus so homeless people feel completely comfortable hanging outside the academic buildings completely drunk out of their minds. When I contacted the dean for the Downtown Phoenix campus about all these issues I was told "this happens everywhere" and essentially that they have no control over the matter. I think this is one heck of a cop out for an organization that is raking in so much money from kids who probably don't know that they are going to be surrounded by drug using homeless people. Some of the faculty seems likewise as oblivious as the Dean of this campus, and let me tell you it does not get better the higher you go up the faculty hiarchy. I think this campus is one of the worst I have experienced-and I am originally from the Bay Area. If you have to go to this school-definitely try one of the other campuses where they at least attempt to keep students safe."
"They are interested in only the money. Not if this is the right career path for you or what you plan to do. I contacted an advisor to ask some questions about their program. All they wanted to know is how I was paying. I had to tell them I had a scholarship program with my job and planned to use it so I could talk to someone. They constantly kept asking for my employer so they could redirect me to get it set up. I explained I wasn't ready to apply yet and was looking at other universities as well. I had not made a decision and wanted to ask a few questions about the program. They kept asking and I didn't even get a chance to ask my question. I finally told them hoping I could ask my question now. Instead she talked over me and tried to redirect me instantly. She didn't listen to a word I said. Just money money money. I've made a decision now to go to another university where I'm not so blatantly treated like a bag of money."
