"7th grade was depressing and it mentally drained me mostly none of the teachers helped me out when i was in need the teachers really take things to Srsly and they have favoritism which causes others to feel left out"
"I've always liked the school but ever since I moved my kids back to this school their grades have dropped! They were doing so good at the previous school. The school is worried about what the kids wear instead of trying to help them pick their grades up."
"I absolutely hated this school. My two children have always been honor roll students, until they attended Excelencia. Although the school was approximately 3 blocks from my residence, the school informed me that if I allowed my children to walk to school, they'd have me arrested. Furthermore, the school seemed to spend more time teaching the Hispanic children English than teaching the non-Hispanic children their regular curriculum. I had a very hard time scheduling appointments, with the Principal, to discuss my concerns. Neither the staff nor teachers live up to the school's name (Excellent). They rate very low, across the board, on testings. During the time my children attended, I noticed that there weren't very many African American children attending and asked around, on my complex, where the parents sent their children to school. The overwhelming responses: Gateway Elementary. I transferred my children and their grades improved drastically."
"Worst school ever to start off with some of the staff insulted my mom and scared my little brother! They made my mom look like a person that will hurt kids and the police was walking her out like if she did something bad !?!? How does that work ?? Fix your staff and have respect with everyone don't yell at parents! And let the parents see their kids whenever they can! It's actually nice to go see your little one at school, but the excelencia staff doesn't understand !! SO FIX IT!!"
"I love this school!!! I have nephews and nieces that have been coming here for 7 years and before they started attending school at Excelencia they went to different schools where the teaching and learning was horrible!!! As soon as they started Excelencia they started learning more the teachers actually sat down to work the students!!! Ms. Rocha has had all my nephews in her kindergarten class and is now teaching my son who loves her ALREADY and it's only been 3 weeks!!!"
