"Hip replacement. Had already had one done, so no worries. HA! Worst experience ever. Noone even came to get me up and walk, I had to do it on my own. They destroyed the enamel on my crown when intubating me, then said I couldn't prove it. If you have ANY other options, take them and stay far away from this place!!!"
"The billing and surgical schedulers are not knowledgeable as they should be. I have been trying to get a hold of somebody and it always goes to voicemail with no call back. The operator never answers. One would think they would check authorizations in advance rather than wait until the last minute. Your doctors should have privileges to perform surgeries at all locations!! Banner Union is much more professional. And don't even ask for a supervisor because they refuse to let you speak to one."
"I have had a lot of surgeries, in several different hospitals/ surgical centers. This is the by far the absolute BEST! 5 stars on every level, every category. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Top notch Hospital."
"My mother had a total knee replacement at this hospital and I'm sad to say the only pleasant part about it was the receptionist and admitting person at the front. Not to mention all the pre op stuff she had to go through from the RUDEST scheduler I have ever encountered. It took 3 weeks to even get her scheduled even though her lab work and EKG were done the same week as the appointment that she decided to move forward. The scheduler made her feel guilty for asking to get her surgery scheduled because Dr. DeComas is a child surgeon as well so they should have priority. We were fine with that, but it still took 2 more weeks to even have it scheduled!! I would NEVER recommend Dr. DeComas or her staff to anyone. They have absolutely no bedside manner whatsoever. She was treated like a number. Dr. DeComas has spent maybe 10 minutes total from the first appointment to surgery time. She didn't discuss what to expect at all even though her notes say she did it extensively. What was even more sad is every other doctor/surgeon the day of my mom's surgery came out to speak to their loved one in the waiting room after surgery. Dr. DeComas gave me a 15 second phone call that said everything went well and that she should be out of recovery soon. When she finally got in a room, they said her room number is such and such and its down the hall. Didn't even have the courtesy to show me. While in the room, it was impossible to get anyone to come help her. The nurses were not attentive to her, just charting and the machines. They didn't check her incision site or to see if her leg was swelling. No ice was brought in for her leg. The PT guy was more interested in talking about himself than helping my mom. He went through the motions and never checked the height of her walker which you would think he would know better if this is what he does everyday and he walked her down the hall with it. Her PT in Payson adjusted it for her 2 weeks later. She waiting over 10 minutes after pushing the button and finally went out to ask to get my mom to the bathroom and they told me no I couldn't and it still took another 5 minutes for them to come. I get it they can get busy. We had so many things said they would do and then not do, it's even too much to list. No follow through at all. When we asked to go home, it sounded like we were inconveniencing them, but the doctor told us we could take her home and we all know that she would get much better rest in her own bed. They did no inspection of the wound site or the leg, which we later found she had 6 inch round hematoma on the back of her calf which was causing massive amounts of pain. Never once did anyone say anything about it or for that matter even recognize it. It took 5 days for the "communication" tree they have to get her in for ultrasound to make sure it wasn't a blood clot. ALL AROUND THE WORST PLACE EVER TO HAVE SURGERY!!"
"What an amazing facility! Every person I dealt with, from admission until discharge, was friendly and efficient. The nurses and CNAs took such good care of me. And this is not something I ever thought I would say about a hospital, but the food was fantastic! I would pay for any one of the meals I had in a restaurant. Special thanks to Gabby, Ingrid,Dakota and Andrea. You were all great!"
