"Our father LOVED this community and the staff was super friendly to our entire family. Parking is a challenge but they are doing the best they can with the space they have available."
"VERY DISAPPOINTED... To find out that they paint the entire apartment when the resident (of two years) moves. But because one wall was painted in a light color (accent wall) they kept all but $25 of the residents deposit. This person paid their rent on time in full every month and at least a week early as well. Left the place clean, turned in keys early, it's only the 21st day of the month and the apt has already been painted and rentable. Nails are allowed in the walls. It's kinda petty to keep an elderly disabled person's deposit...the money was much needed by the tenant who lives on disability payments. Office staff is rude, parking sucks,. There's more. I do NOT recommend moving to the "ORCHARD"."
"I really enjoy living at the Orchard. I moved back in April 2022, because I miss the social community. As a senior we need social inter-action to improve our mental health. My experience with the office staff is awesome! They always make me feel special. The activities department, is great. We can do aerobic classes, zumba, line dancing and yoga. Karaoke on Saturday and Latin dance class on Monday. Church on Sunday, bible study on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Shuttle bus takes me to shopping mall, walmart. Hobby lobby, post office, doctors, out to lunch and many other places that enhance my active senior life style. I'm blessed to live here, and hope you will too."
"I am a current resident and for the most part I have no complaints…except one. There should be assigned parking for RESIDENTS ONLY!! It is inconceivable to me that, as a rent paying resident, I should not have an assigned parking spot. Even if I can’t get an assigned spot there should be other options available. I should not feel that I can’t go anywhere because I’m afraid that when I return there will be no spots available in the complex parking lot! I came home this evening and the only empty spot was too small for my compact car because an oversized pickup truck was taking up two spots! There is no parking enforcement here at all! I should not have to park in the shopping center across the street and walk back to my apartment at night while praying I don’t get towed-however, if I DO get towed guess who’s getting the bill!! Something needs to be done about this because it is totally unacceptable!! If I pay rent here I should be able to park here!"
"During COVID, we were able to get my mother into the complex. It was daunting and nearly impossible so we had to get what we got and be grateful. Our thankfulness was short lived as the staff at Orchard Mesa were rude to us. On move-in day, a lady got irritated with me because she wanted to take my mother on the "grand tour." We had the movers waiting for us to unload and they were charging by the minute. I pointed out that we just needed the keys for now and she could show my mother around later. She looked at me like I slapped her in the face and then proceeded to ignore me and talk to my mother like a baby. Later, she complained to my mother and said I was rude when in fact she was upset because I had a Trump mask on. I know this because I was not rude. I am six feet tall and I have no issue with being straight forward. Here issue with me was personal not professional. Further in my mother's residency, she couldn't get a parking place near her apartment, although she was told that she was on a list, others who had come after her got a parking. She also took a letter from her doctor which didn't matter and when she complained she was told several times "if you don't like it here then leave." Ultimately, my mother has stage 4 lung cancer and I had to go and get her and bring her to my home in another state. I had made arrangements to remove the final pieces of furniture from her apt, but made the mistake of turning in the keys. The manager wasted no time destroying, not donating, but destroyed her property stating that the keys were turned in and that was that. Now, I have a threatening letter charging my mother with +/-$400 of fees for terminating early and the promise that they would keep from getting another apartment. For Pete's sake, she has stage four lung cancer: I am beside myself as I work in the Real Estate field and I have never encountered such unprofessional, hateful, and uncaring people. Someone needs to look into their practices. These people should not be serving the elderly."
