"I regularly come to this park to toss the ball with my dog. I like how they have a water spicket I can give him a drink from. Grass is usually in rough shape over the fall and winter months but summer comes around and it’s a relatively nice place to lay out. They just installed a huge cabana and concrete slab that looks really nice. The city is definitely trying to make it look pretty. Playground is great for kids and there is a lot of space to run around. Basketball court is decent too. Only downside is the random homeless people you get moving through the park. On some days they are just crowding all the shaded spots and it can be unsettling if you have children. There is also a small little bridge like path that collects water and often creates a bad smell. This can be avoided but is worth mentioning."
"We had a great time, had a cook out and kiddos were able to play catch. It was a perfect place, no transients or loud people."
"Its a smaller park with lots of grass, playground and a few basketball courts as well as a couple horseshoe pits and grilling area. A great place for walking the dog! It does have a desert area that backs up to it, and at night, I've seen coyotes. Could use a few more lights. A person must always be aware, because it has several dark pockets. Really love the smell of the pine trees after a rain!"
"Smaller of Parks People don't forget past history of all the city Parks in that area! I met a very nice person there. Yet other people around there are not as friendly. Originally Norton Park very nice, small neighborhood park. But there were years of drug dealing and drinking in Norton Park and the people around there no doubt do not want that to start up again. On the corner is one of the large shade trees of many planted throughout the Valley and one of the few left that is that size. 2 Stars for actually meeting someone there who was a very nice person."
"The neighborhood has culture. Park was quiet for a Sunday afternoon with a couple kids shooting hoops with parents, a mom watching three boys tossing a football and a guy there to run with his dog. The homeless were polite and clean. I sat with my Chihuahua and enjoyed the ambiance."
