"When I first started using Lapels, things went really well. They have had a change in management, and she has taken them downhill. They lost several garments and strung me along for several months before finding the garments. I made several calls asking for the manager to call me back which she never did. The manager was rude and unprofessional in dealing with this whole situation. Also, when I first started using them, the front desk was very quick, professional and attentive, but that all changed too. There would be no one at the front desk and I would have to wait several minutes before anyone came out from the back and then they would take an unreasonable amount of time to retrieve my clothing."
"Came to town for a wedding and needed my bridesmaid dress pressed as well as two men’s dress shirts cleaned and pressed. Was told it would take 2 days. Dropped off on Monday late morning and they were ready Wednesday evening as promised. Everything looked great. Excellent customer service and very reasonable prices. Would use them again and highly recommend."
"I bought a pre-loved wedding dress to wear to my wedding reception. It hadn’t been dry cleaned following the previous bride’s event. It had some dirt/dinginess along the bottom where it had drug on the floor, and some slight snagging/pilling on the silk fabric. I called around to several cleaners, and asked if they’d be able to de-pill the dress in addition to cleaning it. The girl I spoke to on the phone said she wasn’t sure, but that I could bring the dress in and the tailor could tell me if it was possible. When I came in, the tailor didn’t come to look at my dress, but the same girl I spoke to on the phone was there. She looked at what I wanted cleaned/ the tiny threads/pills on the dress. She said they’d been able to fix that for her on her dresses before and that she’d tell the tailor/cleaners to look out for it and see what they could do. She said it’d be ready Wednesday (brought it in Saturday). To my surprise, I got a text it was ready Monday. When I came to collect it, I inspected it, and the threads/pilling were still there, as were many if not all of the stains/dinginess on the bottom of the dress. The girl said they don’t do a lot of ivory/white dresses (odd when wedding dresses are listed as a service on the website). I asked if they had attempted to de-pill it and she said she had no idea. I asked what they could do about the stains and she said they could run it through for me again, but that it’d run the risk of damaging the fabric. I paid and went on my way. I think the two girls I spoke to were very friendly/helpful but the first may have been misinformed about what the cleaners had the capability of fixing. I’m not pleased with the residual staining/dinginess, though understand there are limits to what dry cleaning can do. I’m more upset because I feel I was told it could be done, and it wasn’t. I feel misinformed, and I don’t believe a tailor ever looked at my dress. I think it was just run through as normal. I would rather have taken my business elsewhere if they truly couldn’t have done it to find someone who could or attempt it on my own. At home, I was able to hand wash the bottom of the dress and get most of it out myself."
"I initially selected Lapels Cleaners to have a men's suit cleaned based on others' reviews and was not disappointed. My suit was ready 3 days early and had been neatly pressed on hangers. I was notified by automated text message that my suit was ready. The shop itself is modern and clean, with friendly staff. There appears to be some level of seamstress services available, although I did not use these services. The store is conveniently located in an outdoor shopping plaza with plenty of parking nearby. I will use again for dry cleaning needs."
